About Rachel

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in Marin County playing competitive soccer. I have a twin brother and an older brother. I love hiking on Mt. Tamalpais and going to Stinson Beach. I spend a lot of time in San Francisco going to museums, restaurants, and concerts. Since high school and throughout college and law school, I've tutored students in various subjects such as math, Spanish, history, and English in addition to helping high schoolers prepare for AP exams and standardized tests like the ACT and SAT.

Why do I coach?

I started coaching because the law school and college admissions process is opaque, stressful, and resource-intensive. After experiencing the highs and lows of college and law school admissions myself and guided clients through the process as well, my goal is to help my clients get into their dream schools even when they've been told they don't have the "right" GPA, scores, or experience.

LeGrand Law PLLC is a small law firm in Washington, D.C. We are a generalist litigation firm with matters ranging from court-appointed federal public defense in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to commercial litigation and plaintiff-side employment suits.

November 2024 - January 2025

I accepted an offer to join the U.S. Department of Justice Consumer Protection Branch as an Honors Attorney, but my offer was rescinded in January 2025 due to the federal hiring freeze initiated by President Trump's executive order.
