About Obafemi
I've coached 4 deferred MBA applicants with a 100% M7 admit rate, including admits to Stanford (x2), Wharton, Booth, and Columbia. Separately via HeadStart Fellowship, I've helped 100+ students land roles at McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Blackstone, and other top firms. My background as a content creator (100K+ followers) means I think about applications differently. I don't just edit essays. I help you figure out what story you need to tell and how to make admissions committees feel something about you. Every strong application leaves the reader with one clear emotion, whether that's "this person is resilient" or "this person will change their industry." I'm really good at finding that narrative in your experiences and building your entire application around it. I specialize in everything except exam prep: essays, interviews, profile building, and recommender prep. If it involves storytelling, that's where I add the most value. Why do I coach?
I coach because I know firsthand how one mentor can change everything and I want to be that person for others who feel lost like I once did. Growing up as a Nigerian immigrant in Texas, I felt completely lost trying to navigate college and my career. At UT, I met Nairi, an upperclassman who became my mentor. She didn't just give me advice, she shared real resources, opened doors, and showed me what was possible. That mentorship changed my entire trajectory. I realized most students like me, first-generation, underrepresented, from families without corporate connections never get that kind of guidance. So I founded HeadStart Fellowship to scale what Nairi did for me. We've now helped 350+ students land internships and jobs at top firms. I've seen students go from battling homelessness to securing top roles and becoming confident leaders. These aren't just success stories, they're proof that the right guidance at the right time can completely change someone's life. My family sacrificed everything so I could have opportunities. That taught me we're all connected, and success means nothing if you don't lift others up with you. Coaching isn't just what I do, it's how I honor everyone who invested in me and pay forward the support that made my own success possible.
