You can start chatting with Cheryline before you get started.
I'm a general dentist and dental school faculty member, and I've spent my career at the intersection of clinical practice, academic administration, and public health. I direct community-based programs and pre-health pathway initiatives, and I'm currently completing my doctorate in education, where my research focuses on the future of the dental education workforce. I also still practice clinically one day a week. That mix shapes how I coach. I've been on the other side of the table — writing letters of recommendation, reviewing applications and personal statements, and advising students on residency fit, specialty decisions, and how to present themselves honestly and competitively. I've worked with students at every stage: high schoolers who don't yet know dentistry is an option, undergrads assembling a first application, dental students figuring out their next move and non-traditional students looking for a meaningful change. If you're applying to dental school, weighing GPR vs. AEGD vs. specialty, or trying to make your application actually sound like you, I can help.

Why do I coach?
I coach because I've watched too many capable students get filtered out of the health professions for reasons that have nothing to do with whether they'd be good clinicians. No one in their family went to dental school. No one told them shadowing mattered. No one read their personal statement before they hit submit. A lot of my work has been building programs that reach students before those gaps become disqualifying — bringing high schoolers into a profession they'd never seen up close, and then watching some of them show up years later as dental students. That's the part of my job I care most about, and coaching is the one-on-one version of it. Mentorship changed my own trajectory, and I don't take that for granted. So when we work together, I'm not handing you a template. I want your actual story, and then I want to help you tell it well.
