Description
This package is for engineers, scientists, clinicians, MBAs, marketers, consultants, and career-switchers who want a real role in medical devices and biotech. I spent 15+ years at Medtronic across its spinal surgery and diabetes-adjacent businesses, hold five U.S. patents, and trained in Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science at Carnegie Mellon before earning my MBA at UCLA Anderson. I'll help you understand how the industry actually hires and how to present yourself as someone who fits. 4 × 60-minute 1:1 coaching sessions Session 1: Industry map and target role strategy We'll go through how the medtech and biotech landscape is organized: large strategics versus startups, device classes and what they mean for pace and risk, and the main functions (R&D/product development, quality, regulatory, clinical, manufacturing/operations, marketing, and sales). We'll figure out which roles fit your background and goals. You'll leave with a shortlist of 2–3 target roles and a list of 10–15 target companies. Session 2: Positioning, resume, and LinkedIn I'll show you how to translate your experience into the language medtech hiring managers use, such as design controls, verification and validation, cross-functional launches, and voice of the customer. I'll review your resume and LinkedIn line by line before we meet. You'll leave with specific edits and a positioning statement you can use everywhere. Session 3: Networking and getting in the door We'll cover how to find and approach the right people, including hiring managers, recruiters, and alumni. I'll give you outreach templates and informational interview questions that make you memorable. We'll also talk about how to use conferences, professional societies, and referrals, and how rotational and development programs at large companies work. Session 4: Interview preparation and mock interview You'll get a realistic mock interview for your target role, covering behavioral questions, technical and product questions, and the regulatory and quality basics interviewers expect you to know (FDA pathways such as 510(k) versus PMA, design controls, ISO 13485 concepts). I'll give you direct feedback, and we'll work on how to evaluate and negotiate an offer. Need visa sponsorship? I've been there. I started my career needing a work visa. I went on to land employer sponsorship and eventually earned U.S. citizenship through employment. If you're an international candidate, I'll weave this into our sessions. We'll cover how to identify companies that sponsor, when and how to raise sponsorship with recruiters and hiring managers, how to make yourself worth sponsoring, and what the path from work visa to green card can look like when it runs through your employer. This guidance is based on my personal experience and is not legal advice. For your specific case, you should consult an immigration attorney. How we'll work together Sessions are live over Leland video, typically spaced 1–2 weeks apart so you have time to act on each one. I respond to messages within [24–48 hours] on weekdays. Written feedback on your resume, LinkedIn, and cover letters comes back within [3 business days] (up to 2 rounds each). You'll get a personalized action plan after each session with clear next steps. My style is direct and practical. I'll tell you what hiring managers will actually think, not just what's encouraging to hear. Resources you'll get A medtech career landscape guide covering functions, typical titles, and how each role differs in day-to-day work A glossary of regulatory and quality terms that come up in interviews Networking outreach and follow-up templates A company research framework to prepare for any medtech interview A behavioral interview story bank worksheet What you'll walk away with A clear target role, a resume and LinkedIn that read like an industry insider wrote them, a networking plan you can act on, and the confidence to answer the questions medtech interviewers care about.

Coaching delivered via live sessions and .
My coaching style is warm, friendly, and compassionate. I know how hard it is to break into a new industry, especially if you're doing it while juggling other commitments or navigating visa sponsorship. I've been there, and I'll meet you where you are. I'm also very real with you. As a hiring manager in the medical device industry, I've sat on the other side of the table, reviewed the resumes, and made the hiring decisions. I'll tell you honestly how a hiring manager would read your background, and then we'll fix what needs fixing. My advice also draws on my wide network of peers across medtech, so you're getting perspectives beyond just my own. Every session is action-oriented. You won't leave with vague encouragement. You'll leave with specific next steps, whether that's a rewritten resume bullet, a list of people to contact, or a story to practice for your interview. My goal is for you to make real progress between every session, not just feel good during them.
Feedback turnaround: Written feedback on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and outreach drafts is returned within 2 business days. How hours are used: Package hours include both live sessions and time I spend reviewing your materials between sessions. I'll let you know how your hours are being used as we go. Scheduling: Sessions are booked through Leland and are typically spaced 3 to 7 days apart so you have time to act on each one. Please give at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule. Package timeline: Hours should be used within 3 months of purchase to keep your momentum going. Visa sponsorship guidance: My guidance is based on my personal experience navigating work visa sponsorship through U.S. citizenship. It is not legal advice. For your specific situation, please consult an immigration attorney. Outcomes: I'll give you the strategy, tools, and feedback to compete for medtech roles, but I can't guarantee a job offer. Your results depend on the work you put in between sessions.

I help biotech and medical device founders and teams navigate product development strategy, upstream marketing, and regulatory-aware launch planning — the discipline of figuring out what to build, why, and how to get it to market in a regulated industry. I spent 15 years at Medtronic doing exactly this, starting in regulatory affairs and rising to lead cross-functional teams across hardware, software, quality, and regulatory for both the Diabetes and Spinal & Biologics businesses. I was lead product manager for the MiniMed 670G, the world's first closed-loop insulin delivery system, where I authored the Market Requirements Document that directly shaped FDA submission and approval strategy — work later recognized on Time Magazine's 2016 list of Best Inventions. I hold a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science Engineering from Carnegie Mellon, an MBA from UCLA, and 5 U.S. patents in medical technology. I'm the right coach for biotech and medical device founders who need help shaping product strategy, translating technical complexity into a compelling upstream marketing narrative, or figuring out how to move fast inside a slow-moving, regulated industry. As co-founder of ELIMS Oral Care, I've applied that same discipline outside a large corporation, hands-on in every part of the business, from product strategy and regulatory compliance to manufacturing and go-to-market. That combination gives me a full-picture view: the technical and regulatory rigor of a Fortune 500 medtech company, paired with the scrappy, resourceful instincts of building a company from the ground up. If you're navigating product strategy, regulatory positioning, or how to launch in a regulated space, let's talk.
