About
I started my career in Los Angeles, and over the next 30 years, I moved from Los Angeles to New York, from artist to creative leader, eventually becoming a Managing Director. I had challenges along the way, however I was ambition. I learned as I went — about creativity, business, leadership, relationships and myself. I made mistakes, pivoted when necessary, took opportunities and benefited enormously from people who saw something in me and helped me along the way. Along the way, I was fortunate enough to work with some incredibly talented people on memorable advertising projects, traveling the world and filming on location with famous athletes, actors and more. I like to think of those experiences as a reward for the time and effort I put into getting where I wanted to go. However, the thing that made the biggest impact on me was the people. People who became mentors and helped me along the way, and the friendships and relationships I made throughout my career. As I went from being an employee to managing employees, developing people's careers, and ultimately hiring and leading people, I discovered that this was the most fulfilling part of anything I ever did at work.

I spent much of my 30-year career learning how to lead people, progressing from artist to manager, department head and eventually Managing Director. I’ve directly led teams of 45+ people and been responsible for businesses with 100–200+ employees. Along the way, I learned that leadership isn’t simply about having authority — it’s about creating the conditions for other people to succeed. As Head of The Mill’s New York 2D department, I focused heavily on 1:1s, career development, hiring, communication, team cohesion and culture. During my five years leading the department, we achieved a 98.2% employee retention rate. Later, as Managing Director at Harbor Picture Company, I applied many of the same principles and helped grow the business by 42% in three years. I understand the transition from being good at your job to suddenly being responsible for other people, as well as the very different challenges that come with senior leadership. Today, I combine that experience with professional coach training as an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and iPEC Certified Professional Coach (CPC), helping leaders think through the challenges, decisions and responsibilities that come with leading people.

Why do I coach?
Over the years, people would often say to me, “Have you ever thought about becoming a coach?” I didn’t really know what coaching was at that point, so I asked them, “Why do you think I should become a coach?” They told me I was a good listener. That I helped people think through problems, supported their development and helped them find their own answers. But they also noticed something more fundamental: my approach to leadership had always been about being of service to others. Whatever role I was in, I had a natural tendency to want to help and support the people around me. Throughout my career, I invested in people, supported their growth and helped them achieve the goals they were working towards. Once I understood what coaching really was, I realized it gave me the opportunity to take something I had found incredibly fulfilling and extend it beyond the people I happened to work with. That led me to train professionally as a coach and earn my ICF ACC credential. Today, coaching gives me the opportunity to support many more people as they think through what matters to them, where they want to go and how they want to get there.
