Why do I coach?
Your version is better than mine because it's in your voice, so I only fixed grammar and one gap in the flow: Most people never get asked who they are. An application is the first time anyone forces the question. Why this? Why now? What do you stand for? Even brilliant applicants freeze, because nobody ever taught them how to answer it. I know that freeze. I never thought I could be a leader. Then I started asking myself the hard questions, rebuilt who I was on purpose, and built my Columbia application around the answers. The career I have now is incredible BECAUSE I coached myself constantly to build it around what matters most to me. Then I started coaching others.
