I didn’t take the most obvious path into consulting. I went to Florida State, cold emailed 1,000 people to break into investment banking, got fired a year later, and then cold emailed my way into BCG. Somehow, that one worked out a little better. I spent two years at BCG working across a mix of industries and problems. One of the biggest things consulting taught me was how to get dropped into something you know almost nothing about, get caught up quickly, break the problem down, and communicate your thinking clearly. That’s also how I think about consulting recruiting. Cases obviously matter, but they’re only part of it. The people who get offers also know how to communicate, show good judgment, build rapport, stay composed when they get stuck, and make the interviewer actually want to work with them. I can help with the full process, from figuring out your recruiting strategy and positioning your background to case prep, behavioral interviews, and getting sharper on the little things that separate a solid interview from an offer. I especially enjoy working with people who don’t come from the obvious consulting pipeline. I’ve been there. You don’t need to have the perfect background. You do need to understand how to tell your story, prepare intelligently, and show up well when it counts.
