About

Hi, I'm Xavier. I'm a first-generation student and MD-PhD candidate in the Tri-Institutional program at Weill Cornell Medicine, The Rockefeller University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. My background includes a B.A. in Health and Human Sciences from USC, where I graduated magna cum laude, and research at UCLA and the National Institutes of Health. I coach students preparing for the MCAT and applying to MD and MD-PhD programs. I especially enjoy helping people connect the dots between their experiences, clarify why they want to pursue medicine, and communicate what excites them about research. My style is supportive, direct, and practical. We will focus on what you need most, whether that is a stronger essay, a more focused study plan, or practice explaining your ideas in an interview. I want you to leave each session knowing what to work on next and why it matters.

Xavier has helped clients get into these schools:

I am a Weill Cornell MD-PhD candidate with experience on admissions committees at both Weill Cornell and the University of Southern California. I graduated magna cum laude from USC and conducted research at UCLA and the NIH before entering the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD program. That combination of admissions experience and physician-scientist training informs how I help applicants explain their preparation for medicine and research. I work with MD and MD-PhD applicants on school selection, AMCAS activities, personal statements, secondary essays, MD-PhD essays, and interview preparation. Together, we will identify the experiences that best support your goals, make your research contributions understandable, and develop a cohesive application. You can expect candid, detailed feedback and clear priorities for each revision. My goal is to help you tell a compelling story that sounds like you and gives readers a clear sense of the person behind the application.

Why do I coach?

I coach because the path into medicine is easier to navigate when you have someone who will listen carefully, explain expectations, and give honest feedback. As a first-generation student, I care about making that guidance more accessible. I want to help you find the story at the heart of an essay, understand a concept that has felt out of reach, or feel more comfortable in an interview. My goal is for our work together to build both a stronger application or study strategy and the confidence to make thoughtful decisions for yourself.
