I’ve built my career by successfully navigating high-stakes situations and unknown environments, and I help others do the same. I began as a Special Operations Infantry Officer, leading soldiers on three deployments to the Middle East before transitioning to business. After leaving the military, I earned my MBA from The Wharton School and worked for L.E.K. Consulting. I now lead a $1B+ business at Amazon, where I manage strategy, growth, and vendor partnerships at scale. I’m also the co-founder of The Endorphin Belt, a performance running gear company built to solve real problems for endurance athletes. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how to translate complex backgrounds into compelling career narratives and winning strategies. I work with clients pursuing MBA programs, consulting, tech roles, and other competitive opportunities, helping them position their experience, sharpen their story, and execute a clear path forward. At Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists Inc. (VRSI), I serve as Chief Operating Officer and help lead one of the largest DOL-VETS funded veteran employment providers in the United States. VRSI supports approximately 25% of the national HVRP market, delivering vocational rehabilitation, employment readiness, and job placement services to veterans with significant barriers to employment. I have helped scale VRSI from a small regional provider into a multi-state organization serving veterans across the country. Our programs have connected more than 10,000 veterans to critical resources and place approximately 1,000 veterans into employment each year. A major part of my work has been building the scalable systems behind those outcomes. I developed the service curriculum, operating playbooks, staff coaching structures, performance systems, and accountability tools that allow vocational services to be delivered consistently across multiple locations and teams. This includes systems for intake, assessment, barrier resolution, resume positioning, job search strategy, employer engagement, case management, performance tracking, and long-term employment outcomes. In addition to overseeing operations, I coach leaders and frontline staff on how to improve performance, lead teams, hit goals, and deliver measurable outcomes for veterans. I have built leadership structures, trained managers, improved service delivery, and helped staff translate complex client experiences into strong resumes, clear employment plans, and practical career strategies. This role directly informs my coaching work on Leland. I bring executive-level experience in vocational rehabilitation, veteran employment, workforce development, resume strategy, leadership coaching, and systems building. My coaching style is practical, direct, and outcome-focused: helping people clarify their value, position their experience, overcome barriers, and move toward employment, career advancement, or leadership success.

Leaving the military is more than a job search. Having retired after 24 years as a U.S. Navy Captain and successfully navigated that transition myself, I understand many of the questions that come with deciding what’s next. Through my own experience and my work mentoring transitioning service members (both officer and enlisted), I’ve helped individuals think through career options, translate military experience into civilian language, and prepare for conversations with recruiters and hiring managers. More importantly, I help people step back and make thoughtful decisions about the kind of career and life they want to build after military service. While I was a Senior Consultant at Deloitte, I taught 6 cohorts of over 60+ transitioning military, veteran, and military spouse Hiring Our Heroes Fellows as a member of the Deloitte CORE Success and CORE Leadership instruction team, advising them on interview techniques, application targeting, functional career fit, and corporate networking as they began their next professional chapter. I volunteered in similar transitioning servicemember mentorship roles with The American Legion and the U.S. Army Reserve. As an MBA Admissions Interviewer at Georgetown, I have personally mentored veterans to apply to MBA programs and successfully recruit into management consulting roles.
