I earned my JD from Howard University School of Law, graduating in the top 10% of my class while serving on law review. After law school, I joined Paul, Weiss and later Kirkland & Ellis, advising leading private-equity sponsors on multi-billion-dollar M&A transactions, carve-outs, and complex fund formations. This combination of elite legal training and high-stakes deal work gives me a deep understanding of what top law schools and firms look for in applicants and future attorneys. When applying to law school, I received acceptances to Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, Georgetown, NYU, UMichigan, and UC Berkeley (the last of three were all full-ride offers). Beyond applying for law school, I have ample experience with tough interviews, having interviewed for the Rhodes, Marshall, Soros, Knight-Hennessy, Schwarzman, and Truman scholarships. 🎓 I get it: I recently underwent both the US and UK law school admissions process (spring 2023), with successful results in both. I was admitted to NYU (matriculated), Columbia, Georgetown, and GW, and was waitlisted at Yale. I was also accepted to the University of Law in London and BPP (and can share why I opted for the US over UK system). I can help clients craft their law school narrative in the context of a rapidly evolving admissions system. I am available to review applicants' essays, provide interview strategy tips, and share guidance on the financial aid process. 👨🏾‍💼 I've succeeded in the job market: I'm familiar with the BigLaw recruiting process for 1Ls, which I successfully underwent in summer 2024, with early offers from 6 of the 8 BigLaw firms to which I applied. Last summer, I interned at two US law firms (AmLaw 100) with strong international litigation and arbitration practices and will refer to one of these firms after graduation. I can also provide interview tips and strategies on how to leverage your law school's OCS.

Daniel Khalessi served as President of the Stanford Law Review and is a startup and venture capital lawyer at Sidley Austin LLP in San Francisco. He is passionate about helping others turn their personal experiences into powerful stories and achieve their dreams. Having lost his Dad at a young age, Daniel understands what it is like to overcome challenges. A product of Bay Area public schools, Daniel earned a B.A. from Stanford, M.A. in Global Affairs from Yale, M.A. in Economics (China Studies) from Peking University, and his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served as a Teaching Assistant in constitutional law and earned prizes for outstanding performance. He previously worked as a startup lawyer at Latham & Watkins LLP and as a China analyst at Harvard's Belfer Center.

There's so much information on what a law school applicant should do, it can feel overwhelming. My goal has always been to provide superior information targeted to each student's unique circumstances. No questions are off limits, I make the path simple, comfortable and understanding. Perhaps the best definition I’ve heard of a law school personal statement is that it’s a chance to tell your story. My goal is to capture a side of you that no one can deny is uniquely you. Law school trains you to be an attorney. But every student, every lawyer, is first and foremost a person – with a story. Your story informs your judgment. As an attorney, you hold tremendous power in society. Showing an admissions committee who you are through your story demonstrates how you’ll use that power responsibly. Our purpose is to tell your story. I believe every person has greatness inside of them and our goal is to show your greatness through your story.
