I worked closely with a law school admissions coach during my own application process, which gave me a deep understanding of admissions strategy, timing, and what law schools are truly looking for in successful applicants. I applied to nine law schools and was accepted to all of them. Through that process, I learned how to craft compelling personal statements, build cohesive application narratives, and strategically position experiences and goals to stand out. I am currently a 3L student at University of Pennsylvania Law School. I was accepted off the waitlist in May 2023; before I committed to Penn, I was planning on attending UCLA Law. At Penn, I was awarded the Leader of the Year Award for my pro bono work my 2L year, received my Wharton Certificate in Management, and was a Wharton McNulty Nonprofit Board Fellow with Jounce Partners. I am the Development Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law and led both the Pardon Project and Democracy Law Project (the two largest pro bono projects at Penn). Before law school, I worked for three years -- I was on the 2020 Biden Campaign and then worked in the Administration at the U.S. Department of Health of Human Services in the Secretary's Office. I have mentored four people through the law school waitlist process, drawing on my own experience of being initially waitlisted at Penn. When I applied to law school, I was working long hours and was not a natural test taker, so I focused on leveraging my professional experience and presenting my story in the strongest possible way. That approach earned me admission to UCLA Law (a T14 school) through my personal statement and essays, and later, I was accepted off the waitlists at both Georgetown Law and Penn Law before starting 1L. Since then, I have coached four applicants through the same process, helping them strategically navigate their waitlists. Each of them ultimately secured admission to their top-choice school, along with several others. I hope to continue using my experience to help future applicants maximize their chances of success.

Welcome to my profile! As a current law student, I'm no stranger to the ups and downs of the admissions process, and I'm here to help you navigate it! I was admitted to several top law schools with full-ride scholarships, and participated in several prestigious pre-law fellowships. I am uniquely equipped to support students with a goal of attending law school directly from undergrad (KJD), because I did so myself! After graduating from Cal Lutheran in just 3 years, I was an SEO Law Fellow before starting at Georgetown, where I am now working with our Corporate and Financial Law Organization, our Entertainment Law Society, and our International Economic Law Society.
