Welcome to my profile! I have a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford and a Harvard MBA (class of '23.) My background is a bit non-linear - I work full-time in venture capital, and prior to my MBA I worked across engineering and operations teams in deep tech startups. If you are an engineer or tech person looking to use an MBA pivot to business or escape the engineering silo, I have been in your shoes. If you are already coming from a business or finance role, I can help you apply a new design-thinking and iterative lens to your essay and MBA. I came to consulting from a nontraditional path - years in international development, economic policy, and social impact strategy before earning my MBA at Harvard Business School. I didn’t have a coach when I was applying or recruiting; I had to figure it out myself. That process taught me how to translate diverse experiences into clear, structured stories, and how to stay calm and composed under pressure. At BCG, I saw firsthand what top firms look for: clarity of thought, structured communication, and confidence when things don’t go perfectly. Now, as a coach, I help candidates master those same skills - not just to get through interviews, but to genuinely enjoy them. My approach blends consultant-level rigor with a friendly, practical coaching style that helps you feel grounded, confident, and authentic.

Emily brings extensive insider knowledge of the MBA admissions process, informed by her own recent and successful application experience. She was admitted to each of her target programs, including Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan, and Columbia Business School, where she received a full merit scholarship. Emily achieved a GMAT Focus score within the top 8% of all test takers, distinguished by a Verbal Reasoning score in the top 1% and a Data Insights score in the top 5%. She also brings over three years of professional coaching experience, guiding consulting candidates through the application and interview process and helping them secure positions at top firms, including Bain, Deloitte, and BCG. Emily graduated with honors in economics from Claremont McKenna College. She works in management consulting and lives in New York City.
