About
I want to help you tell your story to selection committees---not turning you into someone you're not, but articulating the version of your story that will compel selectors to think that they would be losing out if you weren't selected. I'm flexible to work with you in whatever way will best serve you, from high-level application strategy and essay reviews to interview preparation and practice.

Samuel’s Prestigious Scholarships & Fellowships Qualifications
Fellowships applications are a delicate balance of trying to be your authentic self while understanding what it is that selection committees want from you. I'm here to help you find that middle ground. I've navigated many selection processes -- successfully and unsuccessfully -- and learned from my selectors about how candidates can shape their narrative to make their selection inevitable (with a little dose of luck). I have particular experience helping students from non-Ivy+ schools who are invested in public service. Now, I'm a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, where I study global health and development economics. I graduated as valedictorian of Claremont McKenna College, where I was also a Truman Scholarship Finalist and held internships at Boston Consulting Group, Evidence Action, the Council on Foreign Relations, Chemonics International (a USAID implementing partner), and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Why do I coach?
I'm incredibly grateful for the mentors and advocates who helped me get to where I am, and I want to pay it forward. I'm especially passionate about helping students interested in public service. Prestigious fellowships open up incredible opportunities for impact, and if that's something that you want to have, I'm here to help you unlock it.
