The Other 50%: The Mindset That Wins PE Interviews [9/24/2026] (Recording)

The Other 50%: The Mindset That Wins PE Interviews [9/24/2026] (Recording)

This livestream focuses on the often-overlooked mental side of private equity recruiting. Candidates spend significant time preparing technicals, deals, and behavioral questions, but how you manage pressure, confidence, rejection, and the importance you place on any single opportunity can have just as much impact on how you perform. We’ll cover practical frameworks for approaching recruiting with the right mindset, including how to want an opportunity without feeling like you need it, create optionality across recruiting processes, build confidence in what you uniquely bring to the table, reframe interview anxiety as useful energy, and develop a simple pre-interview routine to put yourself in the right state. We’ll also discuss how to separate what you can control from what you can’t, learn from rejection without letting it affect your confidence, and maintain perspective throughout a recruiting process that can often feel highly personal. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a more resilient approach to recruiting, practical techniques you can use before and during interviews, and a framework for performing with greater confidence regardless of the outcome.

Part 5: Use Your Network to Apply [8/1/2026] (Recording)

Part 5: Use Your Network to Apply [8/1/2026] (Recording)

Are you tired of applying to 100 jobs and not hearing back? Maybe you’re nervous about reaching out to other people and talking about yourself. Perhaps you’ve heard about networking from a lot of people, but you’re skeptical about the way it can actually work for you. As a career coach, I have distilled the targeted networking approach of finding jobs into a five-step process, each of which I will guide you through. Every three weeks, we will address another piece of the puzzle through an interactive workshop. In Part 1, we reflected on what exactly you want out of your next job and why, and learned how to tell your story in an elevator pitch and rehearse it so you are comfortable sharing your story with others in as little as one minute. In Part 2, we learned how to find 5-10 organizations that you want to work at next, now that you know what you want to do next, and worked on figuring out what opportunities actually exist for you in the market, using LinkedIn, job boards, and internet search. In Part 3, we used your existing networks to find people who do the work you want to be doing and ask them for coffee chats so you can learn more about them, harnessing your curiosity and concerns to learn about what they’re doing, their workplaces, and how you can break into this organization or field. Our focus was on figuring out if a good fit exists and also creating a good connection and relationship with that person, not asking for a referral. In Part 4, we reviewed the results of creating new connections, and revisited your target organizations and network building process. We learned how to stay active on LinkedIn, through email, and industry events, and be patient with yourself and trust the process. In Part 5: Use Your Network to Apply, we will: - Use your network when you begin applying for things as good fit opportunities present themselves. - Keep your job search materials (resume/ CV, cover letter, portfolio, LinkedIn profile, etc.) up to date and tailored to reflect your evolving understanding of the market and your own priorities. By the end of the process, you will be fully prepared to use the targeted networking approach to find a job, and more importantly, you will be closer to a chosen job and career that helps you live a purposeful, fulfilling life. Each workshop will include exercises that we will work through together, and I will answer questions. While you can attend any workshop as a one-off, it can be very powerful to attend the entire five-workshop sequence. If you want more personalized support as you go through the job search process, sign up for 1-on-1 coaching sessions with me! This workshop is appropriate for: - Students and early-career professionals who are not sure how to get started with the internship or full-time job search - Mid-career professionals who are looking to pivot into another industry or find a job after a career gap - Anyone who wants to become more adept at networking and use it strategically

Showing Leadership Potential in your MBA App w/ex-Stanford Admissions Director [6/17/2026] (Recording)

Next to academics, the most important criteria that schools evaluate in your MBA application is 'leadership potential'. What is it, and how is it evaluated? While each school may differ slightly, there are several key elements that are common across MBA admissions. My goal is to offer actionable tips and a structured framework to strengthen your application in this area. I draw on more than a decade managing admissions at Stanford GSB, as well as helping to develop the school's core leadership curriculum. Following the session, I will share a video link (in case you miss it) and a PDF summary document.

Relocating Under Pressure: How to Make a Big Move Without Making a Bad One [9/26/2026] (Recording)

This session gives you a decision framework for making a high-stakes relocation decision fast, without the regrets that come from letting your heart (or panic) rule your head. You'll learn: (1) how to separate the decisions that are actually urgent from the ones that just feel urgent; (2) a structured way to compare countries, offers, or paths when you can't have full information; (3) the most common (and expensive) mistakes people make when relocating under time pressure and the sequencing that avoids them. Based on real cases from professionals navigating cross-border transitions across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

The Reapplicant's Advantage: Turning Setback into Strategy. [7/22/2026] (Recording)

The Reapplicant's Advantage: Turning Setback into Strategy. [7/22/2026] (Recording)

For many successful MBA graduates, rejection was not the end of the journey—it was the turning point. When approached with strategy, reflection, and renewed purpose, reapplying can transform a setback into a compelling statement of resilience, growth, and focus. Admissions committees respect candidates who demonstrate perseverance, self-awareness, and the ability to learn from experience—but only when that growth is clear, specific, and credible. This workshop will help you turn a “ding” into a competitive edge. You’ll learn how to conduct a clear-eyed assessment of your previous application, identify what may have held you back, highlight meaningful progress since your last submission, and approach the reapplicant essay with authenticity and impact. More than damage control, the reapplication process is an opportunity to show the admissions committee that you are stronger, more prepared, and more intentional than before. Done well, your reapplication can tell a sharper, more mature, and more persuasive story. By the end of this session, you will be able to: * Conduct a candid self-assessment to identify weaknesses in your previous application and opportunities for improvement. * Demonstrate tangible growth through professional achievements, academic progress, leadership development, and deeper extracurricular or community impact. * Refine your school strategy by aligning more precisely with programs where your fit, goals, and competitiveness are strongest. * Craft a powerful reapplicant essay that emphasizes resilience, growth, and renewed commitment—without sounding defensive or making excuses. * Strengthen recommendations and school engagement by securing enthusiastic advocates and building more authentic connections with your target programs.

Turn Your MBA Story Into Essays That Get You Interviews [10/9/2026] (Recording)

Turn Your MBA Story Into Essays That Get You Interviews [10/9/2026] (Recording)

A strong MBA story isn't the same as an impressive resume: essays that land interviews usually connect one clear thread through your background rather than trying to prove ten different things at once. This session looks at how to find that thread and shape it into essays that actually sound like you, not a template pulled from a forum. Jessica came to admissions consulting from a background in writing and editing, and she pays attention to voice as much as content: the difference between an essay that reads as competent and one that reads as memorable. If your draft feels flat or overstuffed, this is a good chance to hear what's actually fixable.
