Description

A year of personalized, holistic guidance for students in ninth and tenth grade, the years when the strongest applications actually begin. We'll meet every other week during the school year and monthly over the summer to get to know your strengths and interests, then plan the courses, activities and summers that help those interests grow into something real. Together we'll map out academic planning and standardized testing, build a summer strategy and start developing strong relationships with future recommenders. I'll also push you to explore new directions and turn your interests into tangible projects and results, so that by the time you apply, your story is one you've actually lived. The package includes live sessions plus messaging support for both students and parents between sessions. Additional sessions can be added at my hourly rate.

Scheduling: Sessions are held virtually in Eastern Time. Sessions may be rescheduled at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Sessions missed without notice count toward your package hours. Communication: I aim to respond as quickly as possible, and always within 1–2 business days. If something is urgent or time-sensitive, such as a deadline that day, let me know and I'll do my best to get back to you the same day. Student ownership: I guide, question and edit, but I never write essays or application materials for students. All work submitted must be the student's own. Academic standing: I provide broad academic guidance, but maintaining competitive grades remains the student's responsibility. Confidentiality: All student and family information shared during our work together is kept strictly confidential. No guarantee of admission: Admission decisions are made solely by each institution and depend on many factors outside my control. Every student will receive my full effort and attention, but no outcome, including admission, scholarship or financial aid, can be guaranteed.

Harvard grad, class speaker & coach | Admits to Harvard, MIT & more

Since 2016, when I began advising students as a freshman at Harvard (B.A. in Government, Class of 2020), I've worked with families as early as ninth grade, getting to know each student's strengths and curiosities and helping them shape the courses, activities and summers that let those interests grow into something real. I've also worked with students facing tight deadlines, quickly finding the thread that connects what they've already done and turning it into a focused, compelling application. Either way, my job is to help each student tell their story in a voice that is unmistakably their own. My students have been admitted to Harvard College, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, UChicago, Northwestern, Georgetown, the University of California schools and more. I've also edited essays for successful applicants to graduate programs at Harvard, Stanford, Princeton and Oxford, as well as to scholarship programs like Rhodes and Schwarzman. I understand the challenge of a multifaceted applicant firsthand, since my own background spanned fine art, architecture, music and science. I graduated from Harvard as the Harvard Orator, chosen to deliver the graduating speech at Commencement, and I bring that same blend of rigorous thinking and compelling storytelling to every student I work with.
