I recently graduated with MBA from INSEAD. I was invited for the interviews from INSEAD and HBS despite being in an over-represented demographic. As a non-traditional applicant myself, I completely understand your weaknesses and strengths. I found it essential and extremely helpful to get relevant feedback from experts while building a strong narrative in an extremely competitive pool. And I would like to give back to prospective students who are in my shoes to share my experiences and lessons learnt, and provide the right guidance for you to succeed. As a coach, I will help you to reflect your true personality and character as authentically as possible while crafting a strong foundation for your essays and overall application strategy. I not only help my clients coach on applications and school selection but also keep in touch with them through their journey of completing their MBA, help make right career decisions, and share my life experiences with them. With prior clients I have typically focused on: - Writing a standout essay that reflects your personality as a whole considering with what the school is looking for - Adapting your resume to the appropriate MBA school audience - Choosing the right references and how to initiate conversation with them for strong references

I have completed my MBA at Stanford and an MPA at the Harvard Kennedy School, and I was a Recruiting Director for BCG Boston's Empower program - a recruiting program focusing on Black and Latinx MBA candidates. I have a lot of experience supporting individuals with non-traditional backgrounds who are considering an MBA or a career in consulting. I have also supported a lot of candidates from Latin America, and coming from minority backgrounds. Since 2017, I have advised 10+ individuals applying to top MBA programs. For example, during my time at BCG, I have helped associates applying to top schools, deciding whether to pursue a dual-degree, choosing schools etc. I have also supported members of other networks who were interested in applying, especially from Latin America. Some of my coachees have been admitted to top schools, such as Stanford, MIT, HBS, Wharton and others.

As an accepted candidate to the University of Chicago's prestigious deferred MBA program, I bring firsthand experience and insights into the application and interview process. My journey involved extensive preparation and coaching, through which I gained a deep understanding of what the admissions committee values. I have had direct conversations with several members of the interview and admissions committee, including the director of admissions, providing me with unique perspectives on what makes a successful application. With this comprehensive background, I am well-equipped to guide and mentor others through the process, helping them to craft compelling applications, prepare for interviews, and ultimately achieve their goal of being admitted to this esteemed program.

Coaching others for their development is what I do best and the thread that runs throughout my entire career. As an educator, I coached students in developing & sharing their stories and supporting them in their personal growth, including coaching two high school clients to admission at the University of Pennsylvania and Georgia Tech, both clients' first choice schools. At the Stanford GSB, I spend most of my extracurricular time coaching others in personal narrative development as a TALK Coach, where I coach dozens of classmates on preparing and sharing their stories with the rest of their classmates. I coach for those who are in education & social impact and are considering pursuing an MBA to expand their impact or pivot. As a graduate of the Full-Time MBA program at the Johnson School at Cornell combined with 5+ years of experience coaching full-time MBA students on career goals and the recruiting processes, my approach to MBA admissions is a little different. Many enter with the goal "I want to get into school X." I prefer to zoom out and ask two simple questions: - What are your short-term MBA career goals? - What type of experience do you want for the duration of the two-year program? Answering these questions honestly will help you better develop a target school list and be able to better articulate in your essays and in the admissions interview why an MBA makes sense for you, ,why that school is the best fit, and what your short and long term career goals are post MBA. There's a lot more to getting a Full-Time MBA than going to the highest ranked school you can get into, because those rankings don't take into account your personal goals and preferences.

I’m a bilingual Harvard Business School MBA candidate who split his upbringing between Mexico and the United States. After earning AP Scholar with Distinction honors in high school, I completed an Industrial & Systems Engineering degree that grounded me in data-driven problem-solving. My career began in UNIFIN’s Special Projects group, where I evaluated the company’s potential conversion from the largest leasing platform in Latin America into a fully licensed bank. I then helped build a boutique investment-banking firm from the ground up before joining IGNIA, a leading Mexico-based VC fund. At IGNIA I deployed capital across 7+ Pre-Seed, Seed and Series A companies, led our pipeline and investment process, overhauled and streamlined our internal workflows, and became the firm’s first Senior Associate. Today I’m adding operating experience at a venture studio and its flagship startup while finishing my MBA. Beyond the numbers, I enjoy the written word: 99th-percentile score on the GRE writing assessment, published contributor and ghostwriter on Seeking Alpha, and editor at The Harbus.
