I’m an HBS 2+2 deferred admit and UVA graduate with a background in computer science, applied statistics, and business analytics. I currently work as a Business Analyst at Capital One, where my work spans strategy, analytics, and credit decision-making. I went through the deferred MBA process without the stereotypical Ivy League → investment banking / MBB / private equity background, which shaped how I think about admissions. Strong applicants often underestimate themselves because their accomplishments do not fit the most visible MBA applicant archetypes. I now primarily coach deferred MBA applicants, particularly students from STEM, quantitative, and nontraditional pre-MBA backgrounds. Past clients I’ve coached have received admissions offers from HBS 2+2 and Columbia Business School. My approach is analytical and direct: identify what is genuinely differentiated about your background, build a clear narrative around it, and make sure every part of the application reinforces that story.

Why do I coach?
When I was applying to deferred MBA programs, one of the hardest parts was determining how my own experiences fit into what business schools were actually looking for. I had a technical background and strong leadership experiences, but I wasn’t following the traditional consulting, banking, or private equity path that dominates a lot of MBA admissions content. Good mentorship helped me recognize that the goal was not to imitate a stereotypical MBA applicant. It was to understand the trajectory already present in my experiences and communicate it clearly. That is what I enjoy helping other applicants do. I especially like working with students who are accomplished but unsure whether they are “MBA enough.” My goal is to give them candid feedback, help them find the strongest version of their story, and make the application process much less opaque.
