About the event

How do you build relationships, learn about careers, and find jobs as a current college student or new graduate? Everyone’s heard of networking, but how does it really work, especially if you’re a student or new grad starting from scratch? Career coach and networking expert Connie Ma will uncover the why and how of networking for the college student or graduate. Through this workshop, you will learn how to: - Understand and articulate your own career goals, values, and beliefs, so you can begin to tell your own story - Identify and leverage your pre-existing network of classmates and alumni, supportive adults including faculty and staff, and extended family and friends to help you learn more about careers - Connect professionally with warm contacts and craft cold call DMs so you can create new professional connections - Build long-term relationships with industry professionals so you can land referrals and interviews With this new lens on your environment and your own story, you will see how networking can be a natural way for you to build relationships as an early-career professional, learn career knowledge that can’t be found anywhere else, and discover job opportunities. This event is geared toward current college students and early-career professionals who have graduated from college in the past 5 years.
