Interview Ready 3: Deals, Companies, and Trends
About the event
Every interview has a point where the banker asks what you have been following. This session builds that answer: a small set of companies, deals, and trends you know well enough to hold through the follow-ups. Most candidates who miss these questions have the technicals. What they lack is a view they can defend. The fix is a cluster of three to five companies, two or three deals among them, and one or two trends underneath. Whichever one the banker asks about, you answer, stop, and let them pull you toward the rest. What we'll cover: - Building the cluster, and keeping it small enough to know properly - Picking a deal worth talking about: over a billion dollars, short of a mega-deal, strategic over sponsor-backed - The deal in one breath, then why it caught your attention, then the rationale - A trend by what it is, why now, and what could stop it - Tying every company answer to a deal and a trend - Building it from the group you want as an undergrad, or from your past work as an MBA Want help picking the deal and building the answer? My 90-minute session can go to one deal or trend, start to finish. Book a free 15-minute intro to see if it is a good fit. Part 3 of Interview Ready, a six part run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each one stands alone, so jump in anywhere. I'm the founder of OFFERGOBLIN and ex-Centerview tech.
