Interview Ready 1: How IB Interviews Actually Work
About the event
A map of the investment banking interview process, from the first screen to the offer call, and what each round is checking. Most processes run in the same order. Resume and relationships get screened first, then technical and behavioral filtering, then a final-round judgment. Not every bank uses every step. Some boutiques skip the HireVue, and some offices go straight from a banker screen to a Superday. The common mistake is preparing for one step. A candidate who only drilled technicals can still lose on story. One who only networked can still lose on basic accounting. Interviews are risk checks as much as knowledge checks, and the decision gets made in a debrief after you leave, where supporters advocate and skeptics push back. What we'll cover: - The full sequence, from resume screen and HireVue through first rounds, the Superday, and the offer - What each round filters for - Why a recorded HireVue is not a casual screen - What an interviewer scores beyond right answers: competence, clarity, and character - How elite boutique processes dig deeper than the bulge brackets - Who sits in the debrief, and what it takes to have someone there argue for you Want to walk into interview season actually ready?
