Most law school personal statements stall at the same spot: a strong opening anecdote that never connects to an actual reason for choosing law. This workshop covers the harder, earlier step: turning a scattered list of experiences into one throughline, then structuring the draft so it reads as reasoned judgment rather than just a story. Andrew works with applicants on personal statements regularly, and has a clear sense of which openings and phrases show up in draft after draft until they stop standing out. That pattern recognition is useful for catching what is hard to see in your own writing: where the reasoning goes thin, where a sentence describes an experience instead of examining it, and where the two pages of space are being spent on the wrong things.
