Are you thinking about using your MBA to make a career pivot, whether across industries, functions, or geographies? Join Kelsey K. and Horatiu S. for this session! Reinvention is exciting, but it must be strategic. MBA admissions committees and future employers want more than ambition. They expect a clear, credible plan that shows why your pivot makes sense and how an MBA is the right bridge to get you there. We'll explore how to develop that plan and communicate it with confidence. You’ll learn how to articulate the why behind your pivot: why this change, why now, and why the MBA. We’ll walk through how to connect your past experiences and transferable skills to your post-MBA goals, address potential gaps in your profile, and map out ways to fill them through coursework, projects, or certifications. We’ll also cover how to tailor your essays, resume, and recommendations to reinforce a cohesive pivot story. Finally, you’ll learn how to research and leverage specific school resources (programs, clubs, courses, and networks) to strengthen your case and show fit. You’ll leave with a powerful, actionable framework for telling your career pivot story - one that feels authentic to you and compelling to adcom.

100+ people coached for MBA
As a former M7 Admissions Director, I help you craft authentic, powerful applications that stand out and get results. Since 2017, I’ve helped hundreds of MBA-hopefuls get accepted to top MBA programs across full-time, executive, and part-time programs — and I look forward to helping you do the same. 93% of my clients achieve MBA success — and more than half secure scholarships averaging $180K. I served on Columbia Business School’s admission committee, where I reviewed countless applications, interviewed candidates, managed the world-wide interview program, served as a waitlist manager, and managed the dual degree programs for the Law, Medical, and Journalism schools. Thereafter, I transitioned into finance, with stints at a hedge fund, a large bank, and in venture capital. Yet, even as I built my career, I missed the part I loved most — helping candidates craft their stories. I returned to the admissions world as a coach. On the other side of the admissions journey, I saw critical gaps in the application process: limited guidance around testing, the challenge of telling narratives within the confines of a few essays and a resume is challenging, and how admissions committees can seem like a black box. My mission reflects these gaps - offer best-in-class advice, work closely with a small number of candidates, and provide personal partnership to every client.
