Let's Talk Interviews: What Admissions is Really Testing
About the event
MBA interviews are not simply about answering questions well. They are where admissions tests whether the person they met on paper is credible in real life. In this session, we’ll break down what MBA interviewers are actually evaluating and how to prepare without sounding rehearsed. We’ll cover how to: - Explain your story clearly without walking through your résumé - Defend your career goals under follow-up questions - Answer “Why MBA?”, “Why now?” and “Why this school?” with real logic - Build a story bank for leadership, failure, conflict, feedback, and growth - Use reflection to show maturity, not just competence - Stay consistent with your essays and recommendations - Avoid common interview red flags such as rambling, vague goals, weak ownership, and over-rehearsed answers - Prepare deeply while still sounding natural and conversational - Understand what interviewers are really testing around credibility, judgment, self-awareness, and fit We’ll also work through live interview diagnostics so you can see how answers are evaluated beyond just “good” or “bad.” You’ll leave with a practical framework for preparing the thinking behind your answers, not memorizing scripts.
