Michael has helped clients get into these companies:
I coach early and mid-career professionals seeking to build impactful, globally-oriented careers with clarity, confidence, and strategic intent. My approach draws on a combination of international academic training, professional experience in global policy and development, and a track record of advising high-potential individuals navigating competitive and ambiguous career and educational pathways. I am a graduate of the Schwarzman Scholars program at Tsinghua University, where I focused on global affairs and leadership in a cross-cultural context. Professionally, I have worked at the intersection of policy, research, and international development, including roles with multiple agencies of the United Nations, where I have engaged directly with complex global challenges and multi-stakeholder environments. In parallel, I have built a successful coaching practice supporting candidates for highly competitive global fellowships and graduate programs. Through this work, I have developed a structured, personalized approach to helping individuals clarify their goals, articulate their unique value, and position themselves effectively in high-stakes professional contexts.

About Michael
I thrive at the very edge of my comfort zone, enjoy taking calculated risks in life and career, and more often than not have taken the road less traveled. I'm an avid high-altitude mountaineer (7,500m+), have done the world's highest commercial bungee jump (233m) six times, and have lived, worked, and traveled across every major region of the world. I'm thrilled to share the lessons I've learned along the way and to empower the next generation of future leaders to prepare for graduate programs that will help to propel their lives and careers towards achieving impact in whichever area they choose.
Why do I coach?
I'm very excited to work with prospective candidates who are pursuing Master's programs in a wide variety of areas, including but not limited to, competitive graduate fellowship/scholarship programs (e.g. Schwarzman Scholars, Gates-Cambridge, Rhodes, Knight-Hennessy, Marshall, etc.) which offer deeply transformative and life changing opportunities. I attended a small, unranked liberal arts college for my undergraduate studies and became the first and thus far only Schwarzman Scholar to represent my school in program history. This would never have been possible without a long list of mentors and supporters who tirelessly advocated for me in multiple ways. I'm especially keen to support those who come from non-traditional/underrepresented educational or personal backgrounds, or otherwise have not benefitted from access to strong institutional or familial support while trying to achieve ambitious goals.
