About Erik
Erik brings 6 years of experience in healthcare finance and operations, currently serving as Operations Manager in Hospital Surgical Services at Mayo Clinic Arizona. Previously, he was an Administrative Fellow at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Before joining Mayo Clinic, Erik worked at Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City, UT, where he contributed to financial planning, reporting, and budgeting for clinical, hospital, and shared services teams as a corporate financial planning and analysis analyst and operational financial analyst. Fascinated by the complexities of the healthcare industry, Erik has always been driven to combine his passion for business with a commitment to improving patient care. His hands-on experience in finance, operations, and strategy has given him a broad perspective on healthcare administration. This passion to help others navigate their careers in healthcare and pursue advanced degrees inspired him to become a coach. Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance from Utah State University and a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from The Ohio State University, where he also assisted in the admissions committee for Ohio State's MHA program. He has been involved in national case competitions, including a finalist placement, and is an active member of his local HFMA and ACHE chapters. Erik holds the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) certification and has recently presented at national conferences, including MGMA, on leadership development topics like resilience.
