About Alterrell
My career looks glamorous on paper, but it was not an easy road to accomplish what I have. Harvard, Tesla, American Express, and Walmart have provided significant visibility into how things can work successfully for shareholders and operationally and strategically for those entities to be so well respected. The institutions that I’ve been through and gained acceptance to do not define my worth, and I’d struggle to connect with clients who over index on placing their value on where they’ve gone to school or places they have worked. I benefitted from informal mentors throughout my career — from admins to VPs. I did not always listen the first time, but I always remembered what I was told no matter the level of who shared it. I am strategic operator and general manager turned coach in order to help others that way that I have been helped. **What I do well** I’ve consistently been hired when things feel unclear, messy, or stuck. I am a thought partner for particular profiles of people and maintain few coaching clients to ensure depth, quality, and retaining my own energy stores. I am quick to name the root cause and what actually matters, while providing analogs to facilitate understanding and active listening to simplify the solution set. My focus is on sharpening your thinking, building better systems, and identifying the potential paths forward. **Best mutual fit** Whether you’re a founder, operator, or soon to be corporate escapee, I have had incredible compatibility with women and people from underrepresented backgrounds who have done hard things. Think high amounts of agency, self-direction, and skill but in need of a co-pilot. And the same time, these groups often forget or minimize their past successes and and triumphs. What that means I can help with: recalibrating your self-perception based on evidence, translating your story into a more powerful narrative, and providing frameworks that assume you will stop doubting yourself. However, you need to be capable of believing and acting from a place of confidence. I am firm and supportive, but I do not appease. If you do not think you are ready to operate differently, I do not think we will be a mutual fit. If you’re looking for clarity, structure, and results—we’ll work well together.
Why do I coach?
Most people struggle to translate what’s in their head into something executable. My coaching focuses on closing that gap. Sitting at the intersection of strategy, operations, and self-leadership, I help founders, operators, and corporate folks clarify what actually matters, build the structures to support it, and follow through consistently. I’ve done this as a reverse-mentor and manager at places like Tesla, Walmart, and American Express, as well as with founders through Meta and Visible Hands accelerators.
