You send me your model. I spend an hour auditing it the way a pod would, then we spend 30 minutes on where it breaks and what to fix first. I built and maintained models on a Citadel L/S equities pod covering Industrials, Technology and Financials. Most candidate models do not fail on the thesis. They fail because nobody else can audit them: hardcodes with no source, subtotals that do not tie, controls that assert instead of test, a scenario switch that moves earnings but not the balance sheet. That is what gets a model put down in ten seconds, and almost nobody tells you which of those you are doing. Format: - You send the workbook at least 48 hours ahead, with the ticker and what the model is for: an interview case study, live coverage, or a pitch you are about to give - I review it offline against a 22-point checklist covering sourcing, model architecture, controls, driver stack, capital structure and scenario design - You get a scored scorecard before the call. Every point marked Pass, Gap or Not present, with the exact cell or tab, what is wrong, the fix, and the rule it breaks - 30-minute live walkthrough: the five defects that matter, in priority order, what this model can and cannot support, and the order to rebuild in You keep the checklist, so the next model you build starts from the standard instead of getting graded against it afterwards.
