Anna’s Career Coaching Qualifications
Coaches professionally
Experience level: Analyst
I bring over 25 years of experience in higher education, including leading the Career Development Centre at IMD Business School, where I was responsible for career services, professional development and employer relations. I worked closely with MBA participants from diverse professional backgrounds, supporting their career transitions, helping them explore new opportunities and preparing them for a competitive job market. My coaching approach is highly personal, practical and honest. I take the time to understand each client's professional experience, ambitions, strengths and concerns. I ask questions, challenge assumptions and help clients explore career options they may not have considered. Rather than offering generic advice, I work with each individual to identify realistic opportunities, recognise their transferable skills and develop a clear plan for moving forward. My goal is to help clients make informed career decisions with greater confidence and a stronger understanding of what they can offer.

Admissions Consultant
The Farrus Method - Admissions Consulting
September 2025 - Present
I founded The Farrus Method after 25 years working in admissions at IESE Business School, Oxford Saïd and IMD, where I held senior leadership positions, chaired admissions committees and was directly involved in evaluating and selecting candidates. I work personally with applicants to MBA, Executive MBA, MiM and other Master's programmes, helping them identify the right schools, assess their competitiveness and develop applications that reflect their individual experience, strengths and ambitions. My support includes school selection and application strategy, CV and essay development, interview preparation, and guidance on admissions decisions and waitlists. I provide detailed, individual feedback and challenge candidates to think critically about their goals, motivations and what they can genuinely contribute to a programme. My approach combines a thorough understanding of how admissions decisions are made with direct, honest advice. I help candidates recognise their strengths, address weaknesses and present themselves clearly, without trying to turn them into someone they are not.

Assisstant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid
IMD
August 2018 - September 2025
Admissions Committee
I spent seven years at IMD Business School, most recently as Assistant Dean, Admissions & Financial Aid, with responsibility for admissions across the school's degree programmes. I chaired admissions committees, reviewed applications, interviewed candidates and participated directly in admissions decisions. My work involved assessing candidates from a wide range of professional, academic and cultural backgrounds, with particular attention to their leadership potential, career progression, motivations and contribution to the learning environment. I also led MBA Career Development for two years, working closely with career coaches and employers. This gave me a broader understanding of how business schools assess career goals and how an MBA can support different professional transitions. Having worked on the admissions side of highly selective MBA programmes for many years, I can help candidates understand how their applications will be evaluated, develop a clear and credible narrative, and prepare for the questions and challenges they are likely to encounter during the admissions process.

Head of Admissions and Financial Aid
University of Oxford Said Business School
January 2007 - July 2018
Admissions Committee
I spent almost 12 years at Oxford Saïd, progressing to senior admissions leadership positions and ultimately serving as Assistant Dean, Admissions. I chaired admissions committees and was directly involved in evaluating and selecting candidates for the MBA, Executive MBA and other postgraduate programmes. My responsibilities included reviewing applications, assessing professional and academic experience, evaluating leadership potential and career goals, and conducting admissions interviews. Having reviewed thousands of applications and participated in admissions decisions over many years, I understand what admissions committees look for, how candidates are assessed and why some applications are more successful than others. This experience now allows me to help applicants understand their strengths, identify potential weaknesses and present their experience and ambitions clearly and credibly.

MBA admissions coordinator
IESE Business School
January 2001 - December 2006
Interviewer
My admissions career began at IESE Business School in Barcelona, where I spent six years working in MBA recruitment and admissions, primarily across Europe and the Americas. I worked directly with prospective MBA candidates, advising them on the programme, admissions requirements and application process. I reviewed applications, interviewed candidates and contributed to the assessment of their academic backgrounds, professional experience, career goals and motivations for pursuing an MBA. This experience gave me a strong foundation in understanding what business schools look for in applicants, how candidates are evaluated and the importance of presenting a clear, credible and personal application.
