Description

Learn to research an investment, defend your conclusions, and communicate your judgment in asset-management interviews. Work directly with Andrew Glaze, CFA—a former family-office investment executive, investment-firm founder, Columbia MBA, and public-company director—to strengthen your investment thinking, interview performance, and professional positioning. This package includes four private 60-minute sessions plus two hours of preparation, document review, and written feedback. We tailor the examples and emphasis to your target role, whether in equity research, investment management, manager research, or a family office. SESSION 1 — YOUR INVESTMENT STORY AND TARGET ROLES Refine your resume, background walkthrough, and explanation of why you want to manage or research investments. Identify the firms, strategies, and roles that fit your experience. We’ll assess your current knowledge and select an investment or manager-research case to develop throughout the program. SESSION 2 — RESEARCH, VALUATION, AND INVESTMENT THESIS Build a structured investment argument: what the business or strategy does, why the opportunity exists, what expectations are reflected in the price, and what could change the outcome. For public-equity candidates, we’ll examine financial statements, business quality, valuation, catalysts, and downside scenarios. For allocator or manager-research candidates, we can substitute an assessment of a fund’s process, performance, fees, incentives, liquidity, and risks. SESSION 3 — PITCH DEFENSE AND PORTFOLIO JUDGMENT Present your investment pitch or manager recommendation and respond to challenging follow-up questions. We’ll discuss portfolio fit, position sizing, concentration, liquidity, benchmarks, and what would cause you to change your view. You’ll practice distinguishing a good business from a good investment and a persuasive narrative from supported analysis. SESSION 4 — MOCK INTERVIEW AND NETWORKING PLAN Complete a mock interview combining your background, investment discussion, technical questions, and judgment under uncertainty. We’ll review your remaining gaps, sharpen outreach messages, and establish a practical plan for approaching target firms and continuing your preparation. PERSONAL NETWORK Where there is a relevant relationship and I can confidently recommend you, I may make a personal introduction or referral within my network. We’ll first work on the preparation and positioning that make that conversation worthwhile. You’ll leave with a more credible investment presentation, direct feedback, and a focused plan for pursuing your target roles.

Asset Management Coach | CFA, Columbia MBA & Hedge Fund/Family Office

I bring real institutional investing experience across hedge funds, family offices, public equities, private markets, special situations, capital markets, and board-level corporate strategy. I am a CFA charterholder, Columbia Business School MBA, West Point graduate, former hedge fund and private equity investor, and public-company board director. I have evaluated companies, managed investment processes, worked with sophisticated allocators, and advised across public and private capital markets. That gives me a practical perspective on asset management that goes beyond textbook theory. I can help clients understand investment research, portfolio construction, manager selection, valuation, due diligence, risk management, investment memos, stock pitches, allocator conversations, and career positioning. My coaching is especially useful for students, CFA candidates, MBA candidates, young investment professionals, family office professionals, and career switchers who want to develop stronger investment judgment and communicate more credibly in asset management settings. My approach is structured and practical: clarify the goal, diagnose knowledge gaps, build the analytical toolkit, and practice communicating investment views clearly and professionally.
