About Amy

Imagine feeling empowered to make parenting decisions based on real science, not societal pressure. Think about how confident you will feel when you have the knowledge and strategies to meet your child’s needs. Imagine looking at your children and knowing that they are developing a kind, empathetic spirit that will serve the world in a positive way. This approach to parenting is possible. Reading child development research doesn’t mean you stop leading with your heart. This is why I created The Thoughtful Parent and why I coach parents. I aim to help you have the knowledge to parent confidently from the heart. Join me and you’ll learn strategies for combining knowledge and intuition to confidently nurture your child’s emotional development.

Why do I coach?

I coach because I love helping parents feel more confident and informed in making decisions for their children. Parenting is the hardest (and most meaningful) job most of us will ever have, but there's no real training for it. We are all learning as we go, but I'm here to help. I love helping parents see that "aha" moment when they discover what their child's behavior is really saying or why they're experiencing a particular parenting challenge.
