Hi! I have more than 30 years of professional experience across multiple geographies and industries - I've worked in senior, client-facing roles in finance within investment banking, management consulting, healthcare, international trade & development and even luxury travel. When I decided to leave my finance career of 15 years at J.P. Morgan (both New York & London) in 2015, I identified some of the most fulfilling aspects of my various roles as a manager – building trust-based client relationships; developing young professionals to have the skills and confidence to reach their full potential; coaching people through pivotal career junctions – and embarked on a completely new professional path in education, admissions and career consulting. Over the past 10 years, as a senior MBA admissions consultant with one of the leading consulting firms, I have successfully partnered with hundreds of talented young professionals from all geographies, backgrounds, industries and functions via highly tailored, 1:1 engagements. I’ve not only helped my clients achieve their career and education goals, which include offers to all the top US & European business schools, but also secure millions of dollars in scholarship funding, prestigious fellowships, and most importantly the confidence, clarity and purpose to step forward successfully into the next stage of their educational and professional journeys. As an American living in London and who has also lived, studied, and/or worked in France, Switzerland, Mexico and Brazil, I am deeply knowledgeable of the numerous international educational pathways at both the undergraduate and graduate level that exist for ambitious, globally minded young people. Over the past decade, my admissions consulting practice has expanded to include supporting high school students, undergraduates and recent graduates - from all over the world – who aspire to matriculate in leading universities in the UK (UCAS, including Oxbridge), Europe, and Asia at either the undergraduate or non-MBA post-graduate level (law, marketing/brand strategy, data science, finance + economics, medicine + dentistry (inc post-bac), policy/international affairs, architecture, teaching, etc). I’ve also successfully supported countless applicants in securing highly competitive scholarships and have occasionally advised on NCAA sports recruiting. I completed my MBA at Columbia Business School in 2001 with honors and concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship. I’ve maintained close ties to Columbia by assisting the Admissions team as a CBS Ambassador and candidate interviewer, gaining deep insight into the admissions process. I also have extensive experience on the on-campus corporate recruiting side, having been actively involved in J.P. Morgan’s summer and full-time recruiting programs at University of Chicago Booth, Yale SOM, and UNC Chapel-Hill in the US, and at Oxford University in England. Finally, I’m very attuned to the test preparation process. I had the opportunity to deploy my love of teaching by leading GMAT, GRE and SAT test prep classes in the mid-1990s at The Princeton Review’s then newly founded Mexico City office, whilst I worked full-time at the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico. I draw on my understanding of the test prep process to be a sounding board, advisor and supportive confidant to my admissions consulting clients as they often undertake their testing process in parallel.

Admitted to multiple Oxford programs.

I'm not here to get you into any specific program. I'm here to help you determine IF a higher degree might help you get to where you want to go. Sometimes it does, most of the time, the degree is not the thing that gets you there. It can help open doors - but you - the you who starts the program - you have to make the most of that time in the program and have a game plan going in! Most of these programs are 12-24 months. It goes by quickly - and you need to know where you're headed (or at least have a few options picked out) in order to maximize exposure to your desired industry or company. As a coach - I believe YOU have the answers to the hard questions like , "which program do I choose?" I can help by asking questions that bring to light your personal values, priorities, concerns and other important factors. I can provide tactical exercises to help you narrow down choices and eliminate options that aren't a fit. I've worked with business students and engineers from undergrad to MBA and have a pretty solid understanding on what you need to have to pivot into a specific field. Most admissions help comes from people who've worked on just that. Admissions. Getting INTO a program. I have experience looking at resumes (as part of Admissions decisions) with the lens of a recruiter and asking, "With this Master's/MBA degree, how competitive a candidate will this person be in their field?" You are likely pursuing a higher degree because you want that experience or the letters behind your name to help you make some kind of career pivot or "level up" in your current line of work. I work with those considering Specialized Masters and MBAs - and ask the hard questions to get to the root of what you want and if you truly NEED an MBA to get that - or if there might be other, equally valid ways to make that switch. That way - you can make your own pros/cons list without someone "selling" you from the university or college side. Sadly - admissions folks often know "outcomes stats" or highlights that they get from the Dean's Office or marketing department. Rarely are they familiar with what it takes to get a job in your chosen field - or whether or not you qualify to work in CPG or the entertainment as an international student on OPT. I ask questions like: - What you want out of the degree (learning vs hard skills vs opportunity based on industry) - What are your top priorities (in order) for your next job? More money? Location? Industry? Job title? Job function? - Which programs or locations might you consider based on common industry hubs and university partnerships for hiring? - How much research have you done about your chosen field? - Do you generally meet the pre-requisites of job postings that you're interested in? If not - what is missing and how do we build that skill set? - Do you require visa sponsorship and how familiar are you with the OPT/STEM OPT and H1B visa processes? Graduated with Distinction from the University of Oxford with an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice as a Global Rotary Scholar, with additional funding from St. Cross College and the Faculty of Law. Earned an MSc in Public Policy from the University of Edinburgh as a St. Andrew’s Society Scholar and received Nobel Laureate Vernon Smith’s annual international economics prize. All of my master’s applications have been successful, including to the Departments of Land Economy (Cambridge), Faculty of Law (Oxford), Centre for Criminology (Cambridge), and Social Policy (Edinburgh). I’ve also consulted on PhD and DPhil applications and scholarship submissions in population health and astrophysics at Oxford and Cambridge, though my focus is on master’s programs.
