MBA Interview Series: Wharton Team Based Discussion
Wharton’s Team-Based Discussion is unlike any other MBA interview—and succeeding requires a distinct approach. This session is designed to help you understand the format and stand out in a collaborative, high-pressure setting. You’ll learn how to contribute thoughtfully, lead without dominating, and communicate your ideas clearly while elevating the group. We’ll also cover what Wharton evaluators look for and common mistakes candidates make. Whether you’re preparing for your first TBD or refining your approach, you’ll leave with practical strategies to perform with confidence.

MBA Interview Success: What Top Programs Look For
MBA interviews aren’t just about answering questions—they’re about showing who you are, how you think, and why you belong in a top-tier program. In this session, you’ll learn exactly how elite schools evaluate candidates, from behavioral depth and self-awareness to leadership potential and communication style. We’ll break down common interview formats (including blind interviews, behavioral deep dives, and scenario-based questions), teach you how to structure compelling answers, and share strategies for showcasing authenticity while still being polished and strategic. You’ll walk away with a clear playbook for standing out in any MBA interview setting.

What You Need to Know for the 2026 Round 1 Wharton TBD (Team-Based Discussion) [10/29/2026] (Recording)
Join us for the FREE workshop on the 2026 R1 Wharton TBDs! Can't join live? This event will be recorded and sent you to afterwards. Wharton’s Team-Based Discussion is the part of the interview most applicants have the least feel for. There’s no one asking you questions, just a group, a prompt, and a clock, and what the admissions team is watching is how you work with the other people in the room. This session covers what the TBD actually is and what interviewers are paying attention to while it happens. Brian B interviewed for Wharton and has since coached many applicants through this round. He has seen it from the evaluator’s chair and from the prep side, which gives him a good sense of where strong candidates tend to differ from the rest. Interested in joining a live simulation?
