Prepare for Today’s Marketing Interviews with Someone Who’s Run Hundreds
Marketing interviews have changed. Many processes now open with an AI screen or a recorded video interview. Panels score you against a set rubric. Interviewers probe how you actually use AI, and expect you to tie your work to pipeline and revenue. Many add a work-sample or presentation round you'll have to defend live, and some processes move from first screen to offer in under two weeks. I've spent 30 years as a CMO and marketing executive hiring marketers, and I know what the person making the decision is listening for. Over three weeks, or one if your interviews are close, I'll show you exactly what to prepare and how, round by round, so you walk in with proof instead of just answers. For marketing professionals, from manager to VP, with interviews planned, scheduled or coming up soon. Plan on 4–6 hours a week of your own preparation between sessions. We use AI to prepare; you answer live, in your own words. Synchronous and asynchronous. - Four 1:1 sessions over three weeks. Interviewing within days? We compress all four sessions into 5–7 days. - Session 1, Interview Read: We map the role and the hiring process round by round, including AI screens and recorded video interviews. We check that your resume will get past automated screening. You leave with a story-bank plan: 8–10 stories matched to the competencies this company scores. Ask the recruiter for their competency list, and we'll build to it. - Session 2, Proof and AI Fluency: We review your stories live. We build your revenue story: what you drove, how you measured it, and how it connected to pipeline. We build AI fluency stories that show where AI speeds up your work, where your judgment takes over, and how you check the output. - Session 3, The Work Sample Round: We prepare your take-home, case presentation or 30-60-90 plan, built on the company's own numbers, with one named early wins. You rehearse defending it live, and you assemble a 2–3 case-study portfolio with confidential details removed. - Session 4, Final-Round Mock: A full mock panel, with me playing the hiring executive, including the probing follow-ups real panels ask. We prepare your questions for evaluating the employer, and we build your negotiation plan, anchored on the posted salary range. - Between sessions: Templates for every step (story bank, revenue and AI story worksheets, portfolio one-pager, debrief form), an AI prompt pack for preparation, written next steps after each session, video feedback on your recorded practice answers and your work sample, and a short debrief reply after each real interview round, within 2 business days.

30 Years as a B2B CMO: Revenue/KPI-Focused, AI Fluency, and Interview Prep
I've spent 30 years building and leading marketing organizations for B2B and technology companies, including CMO and senior executive roles at Fortune 500 and growth-stage companies across SaaS, enterprise software, IT solutions, data storage, and data analytics—and I bring that experience directly into how I coach. My marketing leadership has contributed directly to four successful company exits: Givful (acquired by iSolved), MEDarchon (acquired by Xsolis), DataFrameworks (acquired by Dell Technologies), and Anacomp's Magnetics Division (acquired by a New York private equity firm). Across these engagements and 25+ years of prior executive leadership, I've built go-to-market strategies from scratch, run marketing operations engineered for top-tier execution, positioned companies for investor and board scrutiny, including pitching venture and private equity firms on Sand Hill Road and in New York, and led and scaled global marketing teams through growth, turnaround, and transition. I've owned P&Ls exceeding $100 million, sat with boards, and been the executive brought in to fix what wasn't working and prepare a company for its next chapter, whether that was a product launch, a turnaround, or an acquisition. Alongside this operating career, I've coached dozens of CEOs, CMOs, and marketing leaders, and spent four years mentoring MBA students at UC San Diego's Rady School of Management, one of whom recently reached back out, twenty years later, to ask me to mentor her again. If you're a founder or rising executive who wants a coach who has actually sat in the seat—who has built the strategy, run the operation, faced the board, and closed the deal—I bring that expertise and enthusiasm directly to you.
