Advisory Engagement

A six-session preparation program designed to take you from your current standing to interview-ready. Built around the Calibration Diagnostic methodology I developed at Calvanese Advisory. The engagement begins with a full Calibration Diagnostic to establish your baseline against the MBB bar across 15 dimensions. From there, four targeted advisory sessions execute against the specific gaps surfaced — one behavioral, one case, and two flex sessions calibrated to your highest-leverage development areas. A final readiness assessment closes the engagement, using the same dimensional framework to show progression and confirm where you stand going into interviews. Session-by-session breakdown: Session 1: Calibration Diagnostic (75 minutes) Full mock interview covering case and behavioral, followed by a detailed verbal debrief. Within 48 hours, you receive a written Calibration Report containing overall calibration rating, performance summary, dimensional scoring across all 15 dimensions with specific written feedback, and a prioritized preparation roadmap. Sessions 2-5: Targeted Advisory (60 minutes each) Executes against the roadmap from your diagnostic: 1 behavioral session 1 case session 2 flex sessions tailored to your specific high-leverage gaps Brief written notes follow each session, ensuring the work compounds rather than dissipating. Session 6: Final Readiness Assessment (60 minutes) Full mock interview covering case and behavioral, evaluated using the same 15-dimension framework as the original diagnostic. Within 48 hours, you receive a written Readiness Assessment showing your progression across dimensions and final positioning against the bar. Email support throughout for between-session questions, practice setup, and application-specific topics. Pacing: Standard delivery is approximately 3 weeks at 2 sessions per week. Adjustable based on your interview timeline.

I run the engagement the way a real interview cycle would prepare you: structured, calibrated, and direct. The Calibration Diagnostic that opens the engagement gives us both a baseline. From there, the four advisory sessions execute against the specific gaps that will most move your performance, rather than generic case practice on rotation. Between sessions, written notes ensure the work compounds and you have a record to return to. Email support handles the questions that come up between formal sessions: practice case structuring, behavioral story development, application-specific topics. The final readiness assessment is more than a closing session. It uses the same 15-dimension framework as the original diagnostic, so you'll see exactly where you've moved and where you stand against the bar going into interviews. That progression document is yours to return to in the days before your actual rounds. Throughout: honesty over comfort, specificity over reassurance, structure over volume. If you're not where you need to be at any point, I'll say so and we'll adjust the roadmap. If you're closer than you think, I'll say that too.

  • A written Calibration Report at the start, establishing your baseline against the MBB bar
  • A targeted four-session prep cycle calibrated to your specific gaps, not generic case rotation
  • Brief written notes after each advisory session
  • A final written Readiness Assessment showing progression across all 15 dimensions
  • Clear visibility into where you stand at each major checkpoint of the engagement
  • Coverage of both case and behavioral interview components
  • A reusable methodology and document trail you can return to throughout your prep and in the final days before interviews

I grew up in Italy and came to the US for my career, spending 4.5 years at McKinsey across the Denver and Milan offices in the firm's strategy practice. Two threads run through my life outside consulting. The first is climbing. I'm a mountaineer, and choosing Denver and Milan as my offices was deliberate: both put serious mountains less than an hour from the desk. The second is work in international development, which has taken me to live and work across six continents. Both shape how I think about coaching. Climbing trains you to break hard problems into deliberate moves, and working across very different contexts teaches you when frameworks travel and when they don't. What I try to bring as a coach is a structured but not formulaic approach. Frameworks matter, but most candidates I saw at McKinsey weren't rejected for failing to use a framework. They were rejected for not thinking clearly under pressure. My work focuses on that more than on any prescribed methodology.
