Land the Product Role: Jumpstart

Diana L.
By Diana L.Executive Leadership & Product Coach | x-Amazon, Box, Iterable, Apollo

The fast start to being PM interview ready (Sr. PM through VP level), from someone who's been on both sides of the table. The work was never the problem. Your experience is real. What costs people the offer is translating that experience into the story that lands, under pressure, in a room where someone is deciding in real time whether you're the one. I've been on both sides of that table. Over twenty years leading product at Amazon, including Prime Video and Alexa, and at Box, Iterable, Apollo, and Marketo, I was hired, I built teams from the ground up, and I've won the interview loop myself, including three times at Amazon. I know what a strong product candidate sounds like, where good people lose the room, and what it takes to convert under pressure. This is the fast start that helps you land your story and enter the first interview with confidence. What's included: * Resume and LinkedIn assessment. You send both. I give you written and verbal feedback, not a rewrite, so you see exactly what a hiring bar sees and where you're losing signal, then sharpen it yourself. * Up to 5 STAR stories, built to flex. We develop your core narratives, the wins, the hard calls, the failures you grew from, so each one adapts across behavioral, leadership, and product questions instead of working only once. * 2 mock interview sessions with direct feedback on substance, signal, and presence. You fix it here, and enter the room with confidence. Five coaching hours of focused, senior-level prep. The jumpstart, not the kitchen sink. Optional Add-ons post 5 hours: Go deeper after your Jumpstart This is all optional. Once we've worked together and seen where you are, we can shape next steps if you want to go further in the areas that matter most: * Deeper story work: more narratives beyond your core five, executive-presence and leadership-signal coaching, and tightening delivery for senior loops. * Resume and LinkedIn intensive: a working deep-dive on positioning for a level-up, with multiple drafts reviewed. * Extra mock rounds until you feel confident. * Amazon-specific prep: the Leadership Principles, the Bar Raiser format, and your stories rebuilt as LP-mapped answers, from someone who's won the loop three times. We'll talk through the hours and what makes sense for your timeline and your target roles after the Jumpstart. You'll walk in with your story cold, your materials sharp, and the composure that comes from having faced the hard questions before they count. If you've spent your career being underestimated, this is where you stop hoping they'll notice and start making sure they do. Kind enough to tell you the truth. Tough enough to walk through it with you.

I'm Diana Langston, founder of Kind But Tough and a product executive turned coach. I spent over twenty years building and scaling enterprise B2B/B2B2C SaaS, at Amazon, including Seller Central, Prime Video and Alexa, and at Box, Iterable, Apollo, and Marketo. I built products and teams from the ground up, led through hypergrowth, and shipped gen-AI features like Journey Assist, a first-to-market journey builder, before competitors had a roadmap. I'm also a first-generation American trained in cultural anthropology, which is probably why I've always been drawn to the people behind the product: what drives them, what they're capable of, and what they need to do their best work. Years ago, an anonymous 360 review from my team surfaced three words I didn't expect: kind but tough. They weren't describing a contradiction. They were describing how I led, and how we won together. That became the conviction behind everything I do now. True leadership isn't a choice between empathy and accountability. It's the integration of both. I'm a builder at heart, and I never left the edge of the work. I'm building again now, as a founder, and I stay close to where technology is moving, especially the shift to AI, because the leaders I coach are navigating it in real time and I refuse to coach from yesterday's playbook. I'm also an abstract painter. On the canvas or in the room with a leader, I'm chasing the same thing: the raw power and pattern underneath, and the courage to bring it forward. I coach product builders and leaders, as a Gallup CliftonStrengths and UC Berkeley certified executive coach.
