MBA Narrative Audit and Strategy Session
A focused session to clarify your story and direction. What is included: • Pre-session questionnaire • Review of your résumé and background • Identification of your core narrative and differentiating themes • Pressure test of your short and long-term career goals • Clarification and refinement of “Why MBA?” and “Why now?” • Identification and prioritization of your strongest potential essay stories
What's included
My approach is collaborative, candid, and highly structured. Before we meet, I review your questionnaire and résumé so that our time is spent identifying the patterns, motivations, and experiences that make your story distinctive, not simply recapping your background. During the session, I will ask direct questions, challenge unclear assumptions, and pressure-test your career goals, “Why MBA?” rationale, and overall positioning. We will work together to turn scattered experiences into a coherent narrative that feels authentic, credible, and memorable. You will leave with clear decisions and practical next steps, not just general feedback. My goal is to help you understand your own story more clearly and build a strong strategic foundation for your essays, résumé, recommendations, and interviews.
- A clearly defined core narrative that connects your past experiences to your future goals
- A refined and credible articulation of your career goals and MBA rationale
- 2–4 high-impact essay story ideas aligned with top MBA prompts
- A sharper understanding of how admissions committees will perceive your profile
- Clear next steps for drafting essays and strengthening your application
- Increased confidence in your story and a clear plan to move from strategy to execution

Stanford GSB MBA Helping Applicants Win Admission to Top MBA Programs
I started my career as an engineer and eventually found my way into investing, private equity, and entrepreneurship. It was not a straight line. Along the way, I worked at Schlumberger, GE, ExxonMobil, the Africa Finance Corporation, Leapfrog Investments and the George Kaiser Family Foundation before founding Zeus Global, where I now invest in and acquire software and technology-enabled businesses. I also earned my MBA from Stanford GSB and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in mechanical engineering. What ties all of those experiences together is curiosity. I have always enjoyed understanding how businesses work, why people make the decisions they do, and what separates a good opportunity from a great one. I also know what it feels like to have a background that does not fit neatly into one box. Sometimes the challenge is not whether you are qualified. It is helping other people understand the value of what you have done and where you are trying to go. That is one of the things I enjoy most about coaching: helping someone step back, see the pattern in their own story, and communicate it with more clarity and confidence.
