Ace the Case: BEGINNER'S Launch Pad (0-5 mocks run so far)
π― A 90min session designed to build your casing skills from the ground up, ideal for candidates with 0β5 mock cases run so far. If you're more experienced and looking to sharpen skills or work on advanced techniques, check out my INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED options! βββββββββββββ π€ WHO THIS IS FOR: You've heard the words "case interview" and felt a mix of curiosity and perhaps dread. Maybe you've watched a few YouTube videos and still aren't sure where to start. Maybe you tried a practice case and froze when it came time to structure. This session was built for you. This is a comprehensive, structured coaching session designed to take you from "I don't really get how these work" to "I know exactly what I'm doing and why." No assumed knowledge, no jargon without explanation, and no rushing past the fundamentals that most candidates skip (and then unknowingly struggle with for weeks). βββββββββββββ π WHAT WE COVER (YESβALL THIS IN JUST 90 MINS!): --------- PART 1 β How Case Interviews Actually Work: the "How-To" Guide (~25 min) Before you can perform well, you need to understand the game you're playing. We open the session by demystifying the case interview format from the ground up: πΉ What interviewers are actually evaluating β and why the answer isn't "whether you get the right answer." You'll learn the 6β8 core dimensions consultants assess (structured thinking, business judgement, case leadership, communication, etc.) and how to nail them all. You'll also receive a Case Performance Scorecard β a structured evaluation tool built around those core dimensions that you can use with any coach or practice partner going forward, so your progress is measurable, not just felt. πΉ Anatomy of a case β we walk through every stage of a typical case interview: receiving the prompt, asking clarifying questions, laying out your structure, hypothesis-driven analysis, interpreting data and exhibits, synthesizing findings, and delivering a recommendation. You'll know exactly what's coming and what's expected at each moment. πΉ The candidate-led vs. interviewer-led distinction β many beginners don't realize or fully grasp that these are two fundamentally different formats. We cover both so you're never caught off guard. πΉ Common beginner mistakes β the specific habits that immediately signal inexperience to a consultant interviewer (jumping to solutions, over-structuring, going silent while thinking, summarizing instead of recommending) and how to avoid them from day one. πΉ The mindset shift β why case interviews reward a specific way of thinking out loud, and how to begin training that muscle even outside of formal practice. --------- PART 2 β The Top 10 Case Frameworks: Your Self-Study Toolkit (~20 min) Frameworks are the backbone of case structuring β but most beginners either memorize them robotically (a red flag to interviewers) or avoid them entirely out of confusion. We take a smarter approach. You'll receive a curated reference guide covering the 10 most important frameworks used across consulting case interviews β including Profitability, Market Entry, Mergers & Acquisitions, New Product Launch, and more. For each framework, we cover: πΉ When to use it (and when not to) πΉ The core structure and key branches πΉ How to adapt it so it sounds tailored, not memorized πΉ A real example prompt that maps to it naturally The goal isn't to hand you a cheat sheet β it's to give you a mental library you can draw from flexibly and confidently as you build your practice reps. --------- PART 3 β Full Live Mock Case with Section-by-Section Coaching (~45 min) This is where everything comes together. We run through a complete, realistic consulting case interview β and unlike most mock sessions, feedback is delivered in the moment, section by section, so you always know what "great" looks like right as we get there. Here's how it works: πΉ Case prompt delivery β I'll set the scene exactly as a real interviewer would: context, client situation, and the key question you're being asked to solve. πΉ Clarifying questions β after you ask your questions, I'll pause and show you the difference between weak clarifying questions (too many, too vague, too obvious) and sharp ones (concise, strategic, and revealing of your business instincts). πΉ Structure development β you'll build your framework on paper, then present it. I'll give you immediate, specific feedback: what was strong, what was missing, what was redundant β and I'll model what an excellent opening structure sounds like for this exact case. πΉ Analysis and deep-dives β as we move through the case, I'll introduce data, mini-exhibits, or new information for you to interpret. Each time, you'll get coaching on how a strong candidate processes and communicates through data β not just shares what the right interpretation is. πΉ Recommendation delivery β you'll close with a final recommendation, and we'll discuss what makes a consulting-style recommendation crisp, confident, and defensible. Throughout, you'll hear concrete examples of strong answers β actual language you can study, internalize, and begin to make your own. βββββββββββββ π‘ A NOTE ON APPROACH: Great consulting candidates aren't born β they're built through deliberate, feedback-rich practice. This session is designed to front-load the clarity and structure that most candidates spend weeks trying to piece together on their own. The goal isn't just to give you some good early practice β it's to make sure that every practice rep you do after this session is better, smarter, and more targeted than it would have been otherwise. By the end of our 90 minutes together, you won't just understand what a case interview is. You'll know exactly how to approach one and you'll have a concrete plan for what to do next.
