Move Up From Within: Career growth & the hard parts of being an employee
Not every career move means a new job. Sometimes the real work is growing where you are, getting recognized for what you already do, stepping into more responsibility, or figuring out how to handle the parts of being an employee that nobody trains you for. That's what this is for. You get six hours of coaching to spend on the questions of growth, leadership, workplace, co-worker & supervisor navigation that shape your career just as much as any job change, and often more. You decide how to use the time. Book six one-hour sessions, three two-hour deep dives, or any mix that fits your schedule. You have four months to work through all six, so the coaching moves at the pace of your actual work and life, not an artificial timeline. This is coaching, so most of our time goes to helping you think more clearly and act with more intention. Some of it gets hands-on too, like shaping the talking points for a conversation with your manager or working through how you'll position yourself for a role that isn't posted yet. You bring the situation you're sitting in, and we work it until you know what you want to do and how you want to do it. What we cover is up to you, but most people spend their six hours on some mix of these: -Positioning yourself for a promotion or expanded role, including the case you make and to whom -Building visibility and influence when your work is strong but quiet -Growing into leadership, whether that's your first team or your next level -Navigating managers, peers, and the unwritten rules of how decisions really get made -Difficult conversations, from asking for more to raising a concern that needs to be heard -Working through workplace challenges, from conflict to burnout to knowing your rights as an employee -The bigger questions about direction, values, and what growth should actually mean for you You bring what's in front of you. I bring fifteen years+ years inside how organizations really work, from HR to leadership and owner perspectives to the decisions that shape who moves up. We use the time in whatever way moves you forward.
What's included
My approach is partnership and collaboration. I won't tell you what to do or hand you the same playbook everyone else is following. Instead, I ask you the right questions, and the deeper ones, the kind that get at your assumptions, your blind spots, what's really motivating you, and the thinking underneath the thinking. We work together to figure out what matters most to you and what feels honest and true to how you want to show up and support to stay accountable.
- After every session - A written recap of what we worked through and what we decided, so nothing lives only in memory
- -A documented strategy summary that captures your situation, the approach we landed on, and the thinking behind it
- -An action roadmap with clear next steps, sequenced so you know what to do first and what can wait
- -A specific strategic document tailored to what you brought that day, whether that's a promotion case, a conversation script, a stakeholder map, or something else the situation calls for

Most of the people I work with have careers that don’t fit neatly on a page, and they’re very good at what they do. The harder part is getting that understood by the people deciding who moves up. I can relate to that myself, which is why I coach mid-to-senior professionals to move up and thrive on their own terms, without a script and without becoming a louder version of themselves. I’m an ICF PCC credentialed coach specializing in career development, personal branding, and freelancing and entrepreneurship, with a career in HR and recruitment that includes work as an HRIS Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Staffing Agency Owner, and HR Consultant.
