The "Help Me Craft an Authentic Personal Statement!" Package (PS ONLY)
If you're confident about the rest of your application or only have the budget for one piece of the puzzle, this package is for you. We'll focus on brainstorming topics for your personal statement (if needed), narrowing down your narrative and storyline, and crafting the best and most genuine essay possible for highlighting why you want to go to law school. If you've already got a rough draft, I can guide you through making your PS as strong as possible. Please keep in mind that this package is ONLY for the personal statement; if you're interested in having me work on other essays with you along with your PS, please choose the "Help Me with My Personal Statement AND Optional Statements" package.
What's included
If you need brainstorming and topic help, we'll meet virtually to hash out a plan and come up with a rough outline. Once you have delivered a draft to me, I will review it asynchronously and we will go back and forth until we're both satisfied. This package includes two virtual meetings - one to brainstorm if need be and one extra to go over drafts and for me to answer any questions. If you don't need the brainstorming session, we can use both meetings for discussion or other questions you might have.
- Brainstorming topics for your personal statement with a one-on-one virtual meeting
- A deeper understanding of your motivation for applying to law school, your goals, and why you're at this point in your life
- An outline and up to four drafts of your personal statement until we get to a point where we both feel like its hit the mark
- Confidence that your personal statement reflects YOU while also satisfying what admissions committees are looking for
- Two virtual meetings
- A strong, expertly crafted, narrative-focused personal statement that answers the "Why law school?" question

Law Admissions Guru | Specializing in Underrepresented Applicants
I'm a prime example of how having a law degree does not mean that you can *only* practice law. I'm a born and bred Texan and Houstonian who went to Texas A&M University, graduating with my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I came back to Houston to attend law school at the University of Houston Law Center, graduating in 2004, and I practiced municipal/contracts law as an assistant city attorney for about one year before I decided that it just wasn't for me (hey, I tried). I ended up boomeranging back to UHLC and started down the path into higher education as a career counselor, where I stayed for almost three years. After a bit of a career pause to raise my daughter and a few other gigs, I decided I wanted to try my hand at law admissions at UHLC, where I stayed for eight years as both an assistant and associate admissions director. I left in 2021 after the pandemic to spend more time with my teenager at home, and began a different career path as a freelance copy editor, copywriter, and SEO/content creator. In 2025, I finally decided to take the leap and start my own law school admissions consulting business, something I've been wanting to do for at least five years. When Leland reached out to me to see about becoming a coach for them, it seemed like a no-brainer and a perfect addition to my business, and here I am!
