Whether you're considering Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA), actively searching for a business, or evaluating a specific opportunity, having an experienced operator challenge your assumptions can help you avoid costly mistakes. As an HBS graduate, former McKinsey consultant, and current CEO, I bring a practical, operator-focused perspective to the acquisition process. This 60-minute session is tailored to your current stage and most pressing challenges. Potential discussion areas include: ETA strategy: Evaluate your objectives, search model, acquisition criteria, and readiness for business ownership. Investment thesis: Pressure-test your target industries, investment criteria, and sourcing approach. Deal evaluation: Assess a specific acquisition opportunity, including business quality, valuation, risks, and potential upside. Transaction strategy: Discuss diligence priorities, seller negotiations, financing, and transaction structure. CEO transition: Work through leadership, operational, and organizational challenges associated with taking over a business. Action plan: Identify the most important decisions and next steps. What you'll walk away with: An independent perspective on your ETA strategy or specific acquisition challenge, actionable recommendations, and greater clarity on your next steps. This is a standalone session. No commitment to additional coaching is required.

I grew up around teams, discipline, and competition. I attended West Point, competed as a Division I athlete, and spent ten years as a U.S. Army Green Beret. I then attended Harvard Business School, where I deepened my focus on leadership, strategy, and building enduring organizations. After HBS, I joined McKinsey & Company, where I worked with clients ranging from nonprofits to Fortune 50 companies on their hardest problems. Today, I am the CEO of a Michigan-based manufacturing company, focused on building strong teams and scaling real operations. Along the way, I’ve coached high-performing candidates into elite MBA programs, MBB consulting roles, and entrepreneurial paths through search and acquisition. I’ve been married for 13 years and am the proud dad of two incredible girls. The same principles that guide my life and leadership shape how I coach: preparation, accountability, and execution.
