I'm Ryan, a former musician turned consultant turned Duke Fuqua MBA, now working in finance at State Street in Boston. My journey to business school was driven by a mission to leave communities better than I found them—through work in climate/sustainability, impact investing, and international development. As the first in my family and network to pursue an MBA, I had to navigate the application process largely on my own. Now, I help others avoid the guesswork. Since graduating, I've worked with a dozen prospective students on every stage of the MBA journey—crafting applications, preparing for interviews, and choosing between top programs like Duke, Columbia, MIT, Cornell, and UVA. I am currently a student at Harvard Business School (HBS), where I was admitted in R1. I also received early (deferred) admission to MIT Sloan and Columbia Business School. I went to undergrad at the University of Southern California (USC), where I was awarded a full scholarship with stipend. I am originally from New York, and worked there for four years post-undergrad at Goldman Sachs and Salesforce. My background is primarily in Strategy & Operations, with a focus on M&A and Go-To-Market (GTM) functions. I will be working at McKinsey & Company in New York this upcoming summer. I have several years of experience coaching and mentoring peers through application processes, from essay editing to resume revisions to interview preparation. I look forward to helping candidates present their best and most authentic versions of themselves in their applications.

I’m a bilingual Harvard Business School MBA candidate who split his upbringing between Mexico and the United States. After earning AP Scholar with Distinction honors in high school, I completed an Industrial & Systems Engineering degree that grounded me in data-driven problem-solving. My career began in UNIFIN’s Special Projects group, where I evaluated the company’s potential conversion from the largest leasing platform in Latin America into a fully licensed bank. I then helped build a boutique investment-banking firm from the ground up before joining IGNIA, a leading Mexico-based VC fund. At IGNIA I deployed capital across 7+ Pre-Seed, Seed and Series A companies, led our pipeline and investment process, overhauled and streamlined our internal workflows, and became the firm’s first Senior Associate. Today I’m adding operating experience at a venture studio and its flagship startup while finishing my MBA. Beyond the numbers, I enjoy the written word: 99th-percentile score on the GRE writing assessment, published contributor and ghostwriter on Seeking Alpha, and editor at The Harbus. Coaching is simply my way to pay forward the guidance I’ve received.
