Welcome to my profile! As a Harvard alum and current MBA candidate at Stanford Graduate School of Business, I bring a wealth of firsthand experience to the MBA admissions process. My background includes serving as an alumni interviewer and being part of the admissions committee at Harvard, giving me unique insights into what top programs are looking for. What I've learned is that the difference between a good candidate and an admitted one is almost never credentials; it's the narrative. It's knowing which of your 20 experiences to lead with, which to cut entirely, and how to connect the ones that remain into a story a reviewer remembers after reading 50 other essays that day. I've developed frameworks for mapping your profile to a program's selection criteria, allocating anecdotes across essays so nothing feels redundant, and writing in a voice that sounds like you rather than a template. I've successfully coached individuals through their applications, helping them craft compelling narratives and navigate the competitive admissions landscape. When I was applying to MBAs, I had four things keeping me up at night. Which schools actually fit. Whether Lauder or the MBA/MPP path made more sense. How to not read like every other consultant in the pile. And whether a below-median GMAT score was going to sink me before anyone read a word I wrote. It didn't. I got in — Wharton MBA, Lauder MA — and I was sponsored by my employer to do it. I'm Vivek. I work with people who are somewhere in that same mess: consultants trying to stand out, international applicants figuring out how to come across, anyone staring down the MBA vs. dual-degree question, and candidates who don't have a perfect score and are wondering if it matters.
