Real BYU Admit Essays: What it Takes to Get Accepted
About the event
BYU applications ask for something specific: essays that speak to the university's mission and values without sounding like a recycled personal statement. This workshop looks at real admitted essays and breaks down what separated them from the pile, from how applicants wove in the AIMs of a BYU education to the small choices in voice and structure that kept their stories from reading as generic. The coach leading it has spent years editing BYU essays specifically, not college essays broadly, and that narrower focus means she's seen the patterns that tend to move an application forward versus the ones that read as copied from a template. If you're working on your own BYU essays, it's a chance to hear what that pattern recognition looks like in practice.
