IB Exits: Moving from Banking into Strategic Finance & Corp Dev
About the event
Most people leaving investment banking get pointed towards private equity. Strategic finance and corporate development are the two routes that use much of the same skill set and get discussed far less. I moved from M&A at Morgan Stanley into strategic finance at Deliveroo, then into early-stage VC, then back into strategic finance. I now lead strategic finance, fundraising and investor relations at a UK fintech, and I've run the hiring process for these roles myself. In 30 minutes: 1. What strategic finance / corp dev teams actually do day to day, and how the two differ 2. Which parts of an M&A background transfer directly, and which don't 3. What these processes screen for, from someone who has sat on the other side 4. When to move, and what level to target Bring questions. I'll leave time at the end for them.
