How I Got into Google's APM Program
About the event
APM hiring loops are opaque: product sense questions that reward a specific kind of thinking, behavioral rounds that dig into old decisions, and a cycle that moves fast once it opens. Ankur Soni was one of two APM hires from India in Google's latest cohort, and in this session he walks through that path: an engineering degree with no obvious line to product, then the interviews themselves. He came in without a playbook or anyone in his circle who'd done this before, so what he shares is shaped by repeated rejection: how to give a product decision a clear narrative thread, and what interviewers are actually listening for. If you're early in a similar climb, it's a look at how someone without the traditional background pieced it together.
