Consulting is a common path at UCLA.

Every quarter, students participate in resume drops and coffee chats in hopes of getting into top consulting clubs that have become almost synonymous with breaking into Bain, BCG, or McKinsey.
These clubs help students learn how to lead projects, think analytically, and turn their ideas into impact. Here are the top consulting clubs helping create UCLA’s next generation of business leaders.
How the Rankings Work
We assessed each club using three core pillars. These pillars capture not just where members end up, but how their clubs prepare them to get there and what kind of legacy they leave on UCLA.
- Career Outcomes: We looked at internships, full-time offers, and long-term career paths. The best clubs don’t just help members land offers, they prepare students to succeed once they get into top firms.
- Member Development: Recruiting prep is only one piece of the puzzle for consulting firms. The top clubs invest in their members through training, mentorship, and leadership opportunities that rival professional programs. From case prep cohorts to meaningful projects, these clubs create the kind of developmental rigor that employers are actively looking for.
- Reputation: Some of the top club names carry real weight both on campus and with recruiters. We looked at each club’s professional credibility including its alumni involvement, firm relationships, and reputation as a trusted pathway into top consulting roles.

Bruin Consulting
Bruin Consulting (BC) is one of UCLA’s largest and most established consulting organizations. With almost two decades of history and 90+ projects completed, BC has cultivated a strong alumni base and deep brand recognition both on and off campus.
Why BC Stands Out
- Career Outcomes: BC alumni have gone on to Bain, BCG, EY-Parthenon, Deloitte, Oliver Wyman, and LEK. Its alumni network remains one of the strongest at UCLA, often assisting members through resume reviews, coffee chats, and case prep.
- Club Structure: BC Associates are assigned to semester-long client projects and paired with experienced mentors from the club’s leadership. New members receive foundational training in case interviews, slide building, and communication. As the project progresses, Associates take ownership of specific deliverables, such as competitor research or financial modeling, and present them directly to clients. Many Associates also participate in BC’s internal case competitions and recruiting prep cohorts throughout the year.
- Impact: BC has worked with over 90 clients, ranging from local nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies. Recent projects include with companies like Amazon, Reddit and Habitat for Humanity as well as startups tied to Anderson School of Management. Beyond client work, BC offers mentorship programs for underclassmen, joint events with professional organizations such as UBS, and informative case workshops. Its scale and visibility make BC one of the premier organizations in UCLA’s consulting space.

Bruin Ventures
Bruin Ventures (BV) sits at the intersection of consulting and startups. Members work directly with early-stage companies to build strategy, products, and growth solutions. If you’re interested in consulting with an entrepreneurial lens, BV is the place to be.
Why BV Makes the List
- Career Outcomes: BV alumni have landed roles in consulting, product strategy, venture capital, and tech. While not a traditional MBB pipeline, the club’s hands-on startup experience and resume prep workshops have helped members break into firms such as ZS Associates, Accenture Strategy, Goldman Sachs, Meta, and early-stage VCs.
- Club Structure: Associates at BV work for 6-8 weeks on consulting projects focused on business model development, fundraising, or go-to-market strategy. Throughout the quarter, Associates meet with founders and present deliverables ranging from high quality pitch decks to in-depth market research. In parallel, BV runs resume reviews, speaker nights, and a mentorship program to support recruiting into consulting, VC, and strategy roles. This intensive mentorship program is why many BV alumni have gone on to found venture-capital backed companies like Bear AI (YC F25).
- Impact: Bruin Ventures has worked with high-profile startups, including Genies (a Bob Iger-backed Web3 company), Flowspace (Y Combinator alum in e-commerce logistics), and LaunchParty (a Gen-Z equity crowdfunding platform). They’ve also collaborated with larger scale companies like Visa, HP Tech Ventures, Draper Associates, and Poppi. Beyond consulting, BV partners with Startup UCLA and Anderson founders, hosts speaker events with investors and operators, and supports student founders through mentorship and strategic advising, making it a key player in UCLA’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

How to Get Into Top Consulting Clubs
These clubs are extremely selective so to get in:
- Go to every event and talk to members: Don't just show up for the info session. Attend optional events like coffee chats and mock case workshops, as these are where you can meet club members. Don't just ask questions for the sake of asking questions; ask meaningful and thoughtful questions that help you understand if these rigorous clubs meet what you're looking for. Showing genuine interest > generic enthusiasm.
- Show up to each event prepared: Whether it’s a behavioral screen, a market sizing question, or a stock pitch, the bar is high during interviews. Practice your answers out loud and run cases with friends. Know your “Why this club?” cold. These clubs aren’t expecting immediate perfection, but they’re looking for applicants who are coachable and putting in real effort.
