Kevin's Marketing Qualifications
Experience level: Associate
Experienced brand marketer in all stages of the branding process - from brand creation, new product introduction and forecasting, and established business management. Using proven strategic frameworks, I am "consumer-first" in building brands that resonate with chosen target markets because if you don't love something, you won't buy it! I have worked on purpose driven brands such as Larabar and Annie's and love to incorporate a strong mission into my decisions. t I have lead recruiting, interviewing and onboarding for new hires at Nielsen and General Mills so I know how to make you stand out in the interview process and make you shine as a marketer.
About Kevin
I have known that I wanted to be in brand management since I was 15 years old. More specifically, I knew I wanted to work in CPG Food - and I have built my career with that goal in mind. I studied Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing in my undergraduate education at BYU. Knowing that marketing is becoming increasingly data driven, I started out at Nielsen, the premiere marketing data analytics firm. I transitioned to brand management as a Senior Brand Associate at General Mills were I was leading a cross functional team, assisting in running the business of and building the Larabar brand. I knew an MBA was fundamental to my growth as a marketer in the CPG Food industry so I applied and was accepted in the Kellogg School of Management, the highest rated marketing MBA program in the US. The 1-Year MBA was the perfect level of rigor at the right price for me. The courses and experiential learning reinforced and expanded my understanding of not only marketing but leadership. I returned to General Mills as an Associate Brand Manager on Annie's Snacks and am now Sr. Associate Brand Manager on Pillsbury. One of the classes I took at Kellogg that shifted my paradigm around coaching was "Leader As Coach". Coaching is a team process where you and I discuss what you'd like out of the conversation, I ask questions to help you clarify how you can resolve your concerns and situations and we work together to reach a conclusion. As a coach, I excel at finding the story you want told about yourself whether it be on a resume, in an interview or in your profession and helping you to tell it. I freely admit I likely don't have the "answer" but we will find an answer through focusing on the tangible present. I coach several of my peers regularly as well as a few undergraduates at Northwestern during my MBA. I plan to continue my education in coaching by getting certified by the International Coaching Federation.
