I like to approach interview prep in two phases. First, after reviewing the application you've submitted, we'll start with a 1-hour call where we'll discuss the overall interview process, how best to think about the types of questions any given school is likely to ask, do's and don't's, other specific recommendations based on your unique profile, and how best to practice on your own to make sure you get the most out of our mock interview. After you've had some time to practice, we'll schedule our first mock interview (usually 1 hour), which will include extensive feedback on your answers and suggestions for further improvement. After you take a bit more time to practice what we discussed, and if you feel that one more mock interview would be helpful, we can schedule a second mock to make sure your content and delivery are in excellent shape, and to go through one more round of feedback on opportunities for further fine-tuning. Two mock interviews is usually sufficient to provide applicants with an exceptional level of preparation and confidence, but in the event that we still feel more progress is possible, we can schedule a third mock interview for a final round of debugging. NOTE: If you've been invited to interview at two or three different programs, we can use your second and/or third mock interview for the other programs. Additional mock interviews can be added at a discounted hourly consulting fee. What’s included? • Overall guidance, personalized strategies, and one-on-one practice and feedback for interviews • One 'overall strategy' call, covering best practices and personalized guidance on how best to prepare for interviews • Up to three 1-hour mock interviews, including specific feedback on content, delivery, and suggestions for improvement • Review of submitted application (for school(s) where applicant is invited to interview) • Guidance on strategic opportunities for interview based on strengths and weaknesses of submitted content Who is this package good for? Ideally, you should start this package soon after submitting your applications, which will ensure that you have sufficient time to prepare for your interview(s) before invitations go out and the scheduling countdown starts. How do I like to work with applicants? I prefer Zoom for the strategy call and mock interview, but I'm happy to accommodate any other platform, if possible, or even do voice calls if the applicant prefers. What is the response time they should expect? Due to time constraints during the busy part of the admissions season, I usually need to schedule calls 24 hours in advance. To ensure that you've had enough time to practice the issues we uncover and discuss in each mock interview, the second (and potentially third) mock must be scheduled at least 48 hours after the previous session. How long is the package good for (duration)? This service is available through the second-round interview period of that year's application cycle. It cannot be transferred or delayed, extended, or otherwise deferred to a subsequent year. Finally, this service represents a guaranteed reservation of scheduling capacity for a peak period of the admissions season. This means that I agree to turn away new business once I’ve reached full capacity, ensuring my ability to provide the agreed-upon services to the best of my ability. In return for this reserved capacity, applicants acknowledge that the payment is non-refundable in the event that they choose not to or are unable to use this service during its period of validity.
